Circle View Doorbell support for multiple chimes in a home
AnsweredI have 2 chimes, one on each floor. However package only shipped with 1 chime kit which I installed on the 1st floor chime - and that works fine. The 2nd floor one does not ring, and worse it goes into a whirring sound for 10-15 seconds each time the door bell is pressed.
I thought it would be easy to just add another chime kit to the 2nd chime - except I can't see any way of ordering just the chime kit!
Does the camera support multiple chimes? If so, how can I order one? If not - what is your solution for homes with multiple chimes?

Hello Shankar,
The Circle View Doorbell is designed to only support 1 chime at a time. If you have multiple chimes in your home they will not be able to be engaged at the same time by 1 Circle View Doorbell. For a home with multiple chimes the only answer is to have multiple chime circuits each with its own transformer and separate wiring so that a second Circle View Doorbell can be installed or to disable other chimes so that there is only 1 chime present on the circuit. If I can assist you with anything else please let me know. Thanks for being the best part of Logitech and I hope you have a great day.
Best regards,
Chris

I tried disconnecting the 2nd chime so only 1 of them rang...however, the circuit now became incomplete causing 0 power to the doorbell, so I had to re-connect it back. Unless I am mistaken, there seems to be no other solution except to have an electrician re-wire the circuit to exclude the 2nd chime (very expensive option), or for Logitech to support multiple chimekits and actually sell them separately.
Awaiting a response from Logitech support!

One more update for those interested
I "disconnected" the 2nd chime by just looping the 2 terminal wires together to close the circuit for the doorbell to work, but the chime not to ring. Not the ideal solution as I really want the 2nd chime to dong as well, but a temporary workaround nonetheless.

Hello Shankar,
You definitely have a valid point so I will create a support ticket from this post and escalate it as a feature request for evaluation. Whether it gets implemented or not remains to be seen due largely to having to keep the Circle View Doorbell as universal as possible, however, we can have it reviewed for plausibility at the very least.
Thanks for being the best part of Logitech and I hope you have a great day!(again)
