Circle 2 Wireless - Incredibly Long Wake Up Delay and Poor Recordings?
-
I'm having same problems. It takes to long to wake up for live view and has such a delay, it would be hard to see live action, let along talk to someone.
My IR also won't work for events that it detects (only for live view). I did notice that after I try to turn it off and on the light comes on, but then when it goes off by itself and then I go make motion and noise to trigger recording, it flashes green briefly but no IR light comes on and the recording is pitch black. I'm not able to change the record time to anything but 10 - the setting selection won't stick.?

Just talked to tech support today. Jeff (He's the only Jeff on the team, according to him) @ Circle 2 support (not to be confused with the rest of the Logitech support system, they have different numbers, Circle 2 is 1-866-601-5644) told me that they are very aware of the long delay wake-up and that it is probably their number 1 issue right now and that both the engineers and the dev team are working on the issue. He said it has something to do with a bad wake-up signal and that this issue is effecting all of the various wake-up problems, including night-vision and issues with recordings being extremely low-lit.
By the way, this is not why I was on the phone with tech support in the first place, I just happen to mention it to him while we were troubleshooting the fact that one of my cameras would not properly re-setup when I had to remove it from its perfectly working state to make a change to my wireless network setup. Once I removed it from the account, it no longer could be found by the app and wouldn't "go blue" to be found during the "add a camera" setup process after being reset. Having a charged battery is required, apparently, for the reset and re-find process to work; being plugged in is not sufficient if the battery is too low. Take the camera off the battery pack and charge the pack until the LED in the back turns green, then try the reset and setup again. I'm still waiting for the pack to fully charge, so I don't actually know if this will work, but I did finally get the camera to "go blue" after letting it charge for about 30 minutes after the reset.

You may not need to return them. From what I understand if you run the WIRE-FREE camera in "Always On" mode (go to SETTINGS-->CAMERA MOUNT-->ALWAYS ON) then you have the exact same functionality as the wired-one accept you have a battery backup for when the power goes out. Also, I'm sure Logitech is aware and will work fast to fix these issues. If my memory is correct we went thru this with the Alert cams when they first came out as well.

Having a battery charging 24x7 will reduce the battery's useful life dramatically not to mention you can not have the wall charger plugged in outside year round. It is not electrically safe. You would need a cord and plug designed for exterior use. If I wanted to have it plugged in I would have purchased another wired model. Sounds like a poor workaround for the product not working as advertised. The wireless model was not ready for release. Quite frankly I have never seen anything like this.

Goodevening,
I have a very slow wake up time from my wireless circle 2, is there any fix for this the wifi is 100%. The problem is when a package arrives from the postorder company the delay is so long that the postmen goes away. Is there a fix for this. The wired version does not have this issue. Wiring is impossible as on both sides the connector is fixed to the cable. Also in that case I would have buyed 2 wired versions. Hope you can help me out

The 5.2.191 and 5.6.28 firmware made large improvements in the motion trigger time, and the "time-to-live-view" (waking up camera via the app). We have further enhancements in the time-to-live-view coming in the 5.8 firmware (no release dates yet).
Note that as of the writing of this post, 5.6.28 has some regressions in battery life compared to 5.2.191 for some customers, that we are working to fix.
