Internet required even after set up?

    I will be more than happy to answer your question regarding the requirement for an Internet connection for using Circle.

     

    Regardless of where you are, the camera Circle is always accessed via Internet : it does not stream directly to your devices.

    Hi LogiMarion,   I am wondering if you could expand on this a bit.    Is there a maximum clip length?  And when does the clip become available for viewing?   For example if there is continuous motion for 15 minutes, does it send 15 minutes of video to the cloud and then when it is all finished the clip becomes available for viewing?

    Thank you for your follow up questions. To answer them :

     

    1. There is a maximum clip length, but that value is constantly changing. We cannot communicate the current value

    2. The camera is streaming to the cloud whenever the camera thinks there might be some motion, and the services are determining what to record, and what is interesting in the clip (and tagging for people, zones if it's on a premium subscription). When the clip becomes available for viewing depends on the customer's internet connection speed, and the amount of time our computer vision algorithms take to process the videos. Note that system can decide to append more content to a clip you're watching. But again, that's something the computer vision decides.
