What can be done about Circle 2 constantly going offline post firmware update?

What version of the Circle 2 Firmware is on your camera ?  Version 5.2.142 was released about 5 days ago to address significant "offline" failure issues. These events would leave my cameras hung in an offline state requiring a power cycle or reset to restore operation.

How long have you had your camera ?  Did it work OK when first installed but then start going offline randomly ?

There is a discussion thread on the Community that has numerous suggestion and experiences from others with this problem. Many people (but not all) are reporting that the Version 5.2.142 Firmware has fixed the issue. The title of that thread is: " 6 different Circle 2 cams randomly going "offline" blinking purple / magenta".

You mentioned "hours of gaps in footage". Just wanted to make sure you are aware that these cameras only record when a motion event has occurred. There will be no recording of a static scene, only a short clip following a motion event.

    Good luck

Thanks for your response. Yes i have the updated firmware. Yes it continues and did this before and after update. Yes ive seen the thread. Yes i know it wont record nonexistent activity. It goes offline during the day but mostly at night. Even if no activity, it shouldnt go offline right? Kimberlee

You are correct, it should not go offline even if there is no activity. In your case, does the camera recover from the offline state automatically, or do you have to reset the camera or cycle the power? In my case, once offline, the cameras would never recover unless I removed power momentarily then back on. This brought the cameras back online every time. I am 500 miles from the cameras so I had to install remote power switches on all cameras to remotely cycle the power once I received the "offline" alert. Obviously not an attractive solution but I really liked almost everything else about the cameras.

My cameras have been stable now for about 5 days but I am not convinced the problem is completely resolved and clearly the 5.2.142 firmware has not helped you.

My only other observation is that you are subscribed to the Circle Safe program and I am not. I am only using the free 24 hour cloud recording service. Maybe that has an influence on the behavior.

I have the same problem. My camera goes offline for minutes many times a day, but almost always manages to come back online. Less frequently it goes offline and has to be unplugged to get it back online.

It is a shame because other than that (oh and the terrible Homekit integration) it is a nice camera.

I have the same issue, blinking magenta. I have the latest firmware. I have the camera right in front the router. When I reset it the circle 2 it works for about 5 min the goes offline and magenta light starts flash. My other circle 2 on the same network and firmware version works good. But this one stays offline with a magenta light flashing.
