    Live View

For the camera to show live view, it wakes up from it’s sleep state and subsequently establishes a secure connection. We’ve just released firmware 5.2.106 and have improved live view load time by several seconds for Circle 2 Wire-Free cameras.

    Connectivity and Other Improvements

Our 5.2.142 firmware released on 10/19 improves camera connectivity and addresses scenarios where some Circle 2 cameras were going offline and the status LED was blinking magenta. The firmware also improves battery performance for Wire-Free cameras that were being impacted by certain network setups and motion detection sensitivity for Wire-Free cameras. The default setting is more sensitive. Note: Users that have customized their settings previously may need to readjust their sensitivity for their existing scenes.

    WPA/KRACK WiFi Update

Our 5.2.146 firmware released on 11/01 addresses the WPA/KRACK WiFi attack. While the recently announced attack didn't put Circle customer's audio/video content at risk due to the extra encryption applied, a firmware update for the cameras is now available which addresses the underlying Linux OS and closes this known WiFi vulnerability, adding an extra layer of protection to the environment. This firmware update will be pushed out automatically to your camera(s) as well over the next week.

We recently emailed Circle 2 users about the WPA2/KRACK patch made available in firmware version 5.2.146.

As per the email, we started rolling out the firmware automatically to cameras that had not already updated to this firmware.

This upgrade should not disrupt service. The camera will display a slow blinking magenta LED as the firmware is updating. This process should take a few minutes, depending on your download bandwidth.

If your camera camera goes offline after the upgrade and does not come back online after an hour or more, please power cycle your camera (for Wired cameras, simply unplug from outlet for 10 secs and for Wire-Free cameras, detach the camera from the battery and reattach it after 10 secs). This will reboot the camera and restore the previous firmware.
