Craft keyboard Bluetooth connection issues?

I'm using it on a Mac and it's mostly stable but not always. Sometimes when the Mac wakes up, the Craft keyboard does not connect right away – it may take up to half a minute or so. As long as the Mac is awake, however, the connection is stable. I find that using the Logitech USB receiver helps versus using only bluetooth.

I am having the exact same problem. Keyboard looses Bluetooth connection constantly. I've had to reboot and in cases remove and re-add the keyboard to get functionality to return. Switching between computer does not work properly as well. Whatever computer the keyboard is connected to, it insists on remaining there and not changing.

I have a Surface Pro (2017), a Surface Pro 4, and a Toshiba Encore (all running the latest version of Windows 10) connected via Bluetooth.

Keyboard follow also does not work properly.

This is day one with the keyboard and I truly hope Logitech addresses promptly.

    Marias1234,

Did you find a fix? I haven't been able to find a work around or fix. I spoke with support and they are in the works of sending a replacement. I am beginning to loose confidence with the keyboard as a whole.

Unfortunately I had to disconnect it from bluetooth and use the dongle instead. With the Logitech USB receiver, I have not had any problems.

    Hey Malcolm,

unfortunatly no fix. Switched to dongle instead. Was hoping for an answer or software fixes. Seems like it takes time.

    Will now also contact support.

I to am having this issue. Just bought the Craft keyboard and 2S mouse a few days ago and have been having bluetooth disconnection issues on Windows 10 since the beginning. Both will inexplicably disconnect from the computer after inactivity.

Might be returning if I don't find a fix.

    Hi tradinitup,

Bluetooth connection issues are definitely an ongoing issue with the Craft keyboard and 2S mouse. I don't believe returning it for another device will solve your problems due to the vast number of people experiencing and complaining about the same issue.

I continue to have this issue and am hoping Logitech comes up with a solution. I've had my products since the initial release, and complained to Logitech at that time. To date, there's no fix. I'm beginning to believe it's not going to happen.

It's such a shame - I really enjoy both keyboard and mouse. Should Logitech continue without resolution, I have no other option than to never purchase a product from them again. Such a shame, and still hoping.

Just received my keyboard yesterday and have the exact same problem. As soon as my Surface Pro 2 goes to sleep, there is no getting the keyboard or anything else connecting via Bluetooth to work: Device manager shows errors with the Avastar drivers, but disabling, reinstalling the drivers (already the latest drivers) doesn't resolve anything. Only option is to reboot the PC but then, although Bluetooth works again, and the keyboard is still paired, it won't connect again until I remove it and re-add it. Of course that means setting it up again from scratch with the Logitech Options Desktop apps. Unless a fix is offered very soon, this keyboard is going to be returned.

Experiencing the same issue on my desktop with an intel card. My 2 K380 keyboards has multi device pairing through bluetooth only and have never had disconnect issues. Shame the $200 Craft is defective. I'm in the process in returning it for a refund.

I bought the Craft yesterday and am experiencing the same issues. After my Surface Pro 4 goes to sleep, the keyboard would lose its Bluetooth connection. I do not want to use the 2.4 GHz dongle instead.

You might want to try to change the settings for the Marvell AVASTAR driver in the device manager. On the "Energy" tab uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" box.

Microsoft has a support article on this topic, see https://community.logitech.com/s/question/0D55A000074aGN6SAM/craft-keyboard-bluetooth-connection-issues

    Hope this helps!

    Best wishes,

    Thomas

    Same problem here.

iMac 2015 - Connected via bluetooth

Surface Pro 4 - Connected via bluetooth

Using Flow, the keyboard sometimes stays behind on the iMac when swapping over to the Surface by moving cursor over to the edge and pressing "ctrl".

My Bose CQ 35 II is experiencing MAJOR sound issues with lag and temporary loss of connection, like once every 5 seconds. This is a BIG problem for me! Makes me wonder if I should go back to the store with both keyboard and mouse. Bought them just last week.

I guess nobody have a solution... except using the ****** dongle (what's the point of it counting it's all Bluetooth?). Also no official answer from Logitech.

No response from Logitech means that they are aware of the problem and don't have a fix or an explanation worth putting out via their PR.

Hello, so I had two problems. First, if the computer sleeps for an extended period(an hour or so - could be less, when I'm away from it, it is for an hour or more) the Bluetooth adapter would crash and Windows would not allow it to be used again till the machine is restarted. This was fixed by going into Device Manager, Right-clicking the Bluetooth adapter, going to the Power Management tab and un-checking "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

From there, an extended sleep would cause the keyboard to disconnect and could only be re-connected by removing and re-pairing the device (restart may also do it, didn't try that). I fixed this by finding the correct "Bluetooth Low Energy GATT compliant HID device" under Human Interface Devices in the Device Manager and un-checking the same "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" on the Power Management tab.

Should be noted, though this stops the issues, it is not a valid long term fix. As, obviously, this will cause both the keyboard and Laptops battery to drain faster. However, this will help while we wait for a real fix. Should also be said that both these issues are on the Logitech keyboard driver side and not with the Bluetooth adapter or Windows itself. This is made true by the fact that neither of these issues occur with my Logitech MX Master 2S Bluetooth mouse (or any other Bluetooth device I've attach to my computer) connected without the Craft. But continues with only the Craft connected.

Patching my previous reply. Looks like the issue has nothing to do with the computer going to sleep. After the temp fixes I listed before the keyboard now randomly causes my Bluetooth adapter to crash, or disconnects and refuses to auto re-connect. I'm betting this has always been the issue and it was just a coincident that it seemed to happen when my computer was sleeping. Only option left now is to use the included Unifying wireless adapter and wait for Logitech to fix their drivers. If they ever do...

My advice, for those that reading this thread, is to return the keyboard for a refund. I've bought the keyboard for bluetooth multidevice support but it looks like Logitech isn't taking action to fix it. It is an advertised feature but the function is broken due to connection drops. I use the K380 keyboards have no issues with connections drops. This defect on the $200 Craft keyboard doesn't justify keeping it. But for those that don't care about bluetooth, it's great.

Same problem. I've had a MX Master with no issues (of course it is connected via Unifying) but my new Craft is another world.

Whenever my computer goes to sleep (not always) my bluetooth disconnects and I'm not able to pair again (tried switching off the keyboard, sleep again my computer, etc.). Then, I have to shut off via Power Button the computer, and start fresh in order to solve the issues.

That's not an option, and if there's not any solution from Logitech, I'll have to store my 200€ keyboard and use again my old one.

I'm using MacOSX via an IMac, and it's not a computer problem, OS version, as other pals with Windows have the same issue.

First report came from September 2017, 9 months ago, and the keyboard is still being sold and the issues not being reported publicy.

Lawyers must do their work here.

I F**king regret the day I bought this keyboard and have just put the rest of my Logitech **** on eBay. The support from this company is terrible and they sell products that just dont do what they say they do. Response.. if it ever comes is pathetic and canned... probably chat bot.

Get a grip Logitech... I will not be spending any more thousands of Euros on your **** until I get some responses.

Same troubles … I am using an HP EliteBook x360 … MX mice work perfectly, but the Craft keyboard does not reconnect when returning from sleep mode, it does not even connect after a restart … permanently removing the device and reinstalling it is not something you'd expect from a USD200 keyboard … I have have to return the keyboard, too … unless Logitech comes up with a solution within reasonable time … it looks, however, this problem has not been addressed or solved for several months already … Logitech, why don't you at answer to all these threads … ?!?

YUP. Same here. Craft Keyboard. Using it with a Macbook Pro. Birthday present I specifically asked for. What a piece of complete s__t. Unbelievable how much promise Logitech put into the blue tooth connectivity of this device in their advertising. Total snake oil.

Hahah!! You got us Logitech! Good one. Don't spend it all in one place, though. Most of us are NEVER buying ANYTHING from you again.

I'm can't wait for the class action notice I get in the mail one of these days. I'd sign on for a buck-89 just to stick it in a little further.

Same problem on Surface Book 2 and Craft keyboard. Bluetooth connection still drops. August 2018, almost a year later, still no support from Logitech.

Mx master 2s + craft keyboard with bluetooth in Windows 10.

EDIT: the problem still exists. Now what I did to fix the connectivity was that I connected MX mouse with unifying receiver and Craft Keyboard with PC Bluetooth (BT) connection. It works now perfectly, let’s see how long.

The RF signals from the headset and the AppleTV didn’t seem to be disturbing like I wrote previously below. It seems that if both the devices are connected via Bluetooth -> problems, and if they both are connected via Unifying receiver either one dongle or two (each device with own dongle) doesn’t seem to matter -> still problems. But if one is connected with BT and another with Unifying receicer, it seems to work perfectly.

below the old text. I will leave it here.

     ————————————

Same problems as others have. Mouse will disconnect after some idle time and reconnection takes around 5-7 sec, too long.

Also the Keyboard had previously issues, but now it seems to be working fine. Previously I had to remove and reinstall the keyboard everytime after reboot. And it had sticky key effect some times. Now it seems to connect automatically.

    What I did:

In Device Manager I Changed the HID settings for Bluetooth Low Energy settings by uncheking the ”allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”.

Not sure though that this alone did any change, I also took power off from all nearby devices (AppleTV and RF Headset transmitter).

Now i have been using the keyboard for couple of hours without any issues. Mouse is still disconnecting but the reconnection time is now around 2-3 seconds, a bit better.

I was going to complain here that I have these issues too, but while starting to write here it seems that my problem is solved?

Now I just need to think how and where I should place my AppleTV and Headset transmitter as all these devices, icluding the compute is using the same TV. Might need to buy a bit longer hdmi cables...

Had same problem. I also have built in blue tooth in my new pc... does the same thing with pc even tho my Bluetooth works great with my other products. I picked up a 4.0 Bluetooth dongle (latest version) and the connection problem stopped. My craft keyboard has not lost connection since. Hopes this helps u all out... and the options software upgrade, even after uninstalling the old and upgrading the new, did not help.

Okay, an update... I have a Alienware 51 r5, the command control software with this system was causing craft keyboard to lose connection and or no reconnect. I posted here that I picked up a 4.0 Bluetooth dongle and it fixed my connection problem...well it did but I noticed a delay every now and then when typing. So I took off all the Alienware software that came with the sys, and found that my craft works fine now, it ended up being the command center software that controls the case lights. And the craft was the only bt device affected by the software.

As of October 2018, the Craft keyboard Bluetooth connection is no longer a problem with my Windows laptop (Dell XPS 15).

It looks like it's not in the logitech end to solve this issue, but it's related to the bluetooth manufacture or it's drivers.

I own a Surface Pro 4 with a Marvell Avastar Bluetooth radio, and while I was using the Logitech Mx Master 2s just fine, when I added the Craft keyboard to the mix, I started experiencing the same issues as you, mainly the bluetooth adapter was disabled or unresponsive after resuming the device from sleep, both keyboard and mouse were unresponsive.

After trying different solutions, like disabling power saving on the bluetooth radio in device manager's advanced settings without success, I checked drivers version and found that, despite having every Surface device and firmware updated to their latest versions, I had one update missing on both Marvel Avastar Bluetooth and Marvel Avastar Wireless devices.

I was at 15.68.9120.47 on both drivers, and there was a new version 15.68.9125.57 published on August 2018. I had too download manually from http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/search.aspx?q=marvell+avastar, extract the .cab file and manually point device manager to update the bluetooth and wireless device drivers from the extracted folder.

After doing that, both the craft and the mouse are working flawlessly after numerous wake and suspend cycles (I do not suspend or restart the Surface frequently).

I'm using the craft keyboard with 2 surface devices simultaneously w/ Marvell Avastar BT radio. Both computers have the 15.68.9125.57 radio driver and still experiencing connection issues when switching between devices: keyboard re-connection to device 1 after switching has roughly 60% success rate. Many times I have to remove the device and re-pair to device 1.

Upon waking your keyboard after sleep, make sure to wait a bit, cause there is some delay on it reconnecting, especially if u have other bt devices connected. Pay attention to the little light that flashes on your craft. You may have to hit a key when it stops to start it reconnecting again. You may have to do this a couple times. It stops flashing when it connects. I had issues like most here but atm my craft keyboard works great and I also use the surface pro with no issues now. the only thing I did was uninstalled a few programs that came with my new system that controlled my lights for my case and took off all that monitored for new updates from dell and alien software etc... My sys is used for gaming so I don't need all that running in background. I manually chk on driver and software updates. Also, make sure your motherboard bios is up to date. After removing all that and updating Bluetooth to latest, both my keyboards are working fine. I think your problems are not in the keyboards but elsewhere...
