As soon as Apple supports those settings within HomeKit we will add support, but right now, cameras don't support settings such as those.

Thanks for the reply! Is there any chance this capability could be tied to the existing "Smart Locations" feature currently in the Circle app for smart alerts? For example, if all devices are away, turn the camera on or privacy mode off; if any device is home, turn the camera off or privacy mode on.

I suppose the other option would be making these settings adjustable via something like IFTTT. That way folks could use an IFTTT webhook with something like Home Assistant to create a switch that is exposed to HomeKit so it could be used in an automation.

Our upcoming IFTTT integration will support setting these.

But that will only work for one device leaving/returning not for homes with multiple devices/users. Mark

Good point - I guess I was assuming that would be a part of the implementation (i.e. being able to set conditions to handle multiple devices).

The IFTTT integration should work for now. Hopefully HomeKit will extend capabilities in the future for native integration.

We have had many requests for Smart Location being able to control those settings while also handling multi-person households at the same time, and we do prioritize our feature development based on customer feedback. :)

Thanks. According to a developer on reddit, he mentions this should already be possible:

"Third party developer can already expose anything they want to HomeKit. That’s how we have things like Eve Energy watt usage etc. just up to apps to support those characteristics. Logitech could put out a characteristic to control camera on and off if they wanted."

Is it not possible to expose the Camera and Privacy On/Off settings as a binary switch in HomeKit? I'm imagining something along the lines of being able to configure what options are exposed to HomeKit via the Circle app.

All custom HomeKit characteristics have to be approved by Apple and they did not approve us recreating basic controls such as On/Off and Recording On/Off.

Ah, I see. Well, that's unfortunate. Definitely do-able with the current implementation of HomeKit but Apple just doesn't approve.

For any Home Assistant users, a Logi Circle component was added in version 0.79 so it's now possible to toggle the privacy mode or camera on/off via a switch that can be exposed to HomeKit. I made a post about it here on the Home Assistant forums:
