    Hi @Antonio Marques?,

Circle cameras only stream when a live stream is watched or when motion is detected/uploaded.

    Best regards,

Thanks for answer, but I still have a question:

I see on your website that the Circle Free proposes 1 whole day of images...but is this only when there is movement? Or is this continuous? Because if it is continuous (and the Smart Time-lapse Day Brief could confirm this) it would of course use a lot more bandwidth.

I am asking as we want to use our Logitech Circle 2 cam to film 2 months of setup of a statue as well as inauguration etc which are broadcasted continuously to a different location than where the cam is set up, and there is no internet connection there. We will thus have to install an LTE/4G hotspot which the cam connects to, but need to have an idea how much is used "if" there was non-stop broadcast.

I would greatly appreciate an answer so we can solve this issue asap.

    Kind regards

It is only when there is motion. The time-lapse part works by capturing and transmitting a single frame every 6 minutes if no motion is already occurring. So unless there is motion (wind moving tree's counts as motion) it won't be continuously streaming.

Thanks for your quick answer. Well, in fact there may be constant movement, day and night. How can we then calculate how much bandwidth is used?

The average bitrate for a Circle2 camera at the default resolution is about 1 mbps.

My excuses for being so demanding :-)

That would mean how much usage for a whole months worth of non-stop streaming?

And how much if in lower resolution?

If its truly 24/7 non stop:

720p resolution: 1 mbps is 450 Megabytes per hour, which is 10.8 Gigabytes per day, or 325 Gigabytes per month

360p resolution: Would be about 1/2 of that or less.

These numbers are really approximates because the actual bitrate depends on how much of the frame contains motion.

    Hi,

A very last question: is there a way to switch of recording when motion and ONLY have bandwidth used when streamed?

Are you asking if there is a way to not do any recordings, but still allow live streaming? If so, that setting is called Privacy Mode. It will only stream data when somebody is watching the live stream, and no recordings will ever be generated even if you are watching the live stream.

If you want to allow recordings when the live stream is going, but no other times, use the menu "Turn On/Off" option. You will need to manually "Turn Off" after you finish watching the live stream.

    Hello,

So far all is working just fine. Thanks a bunch for your feedback. I only have one issue: although I purchased Circle Safe subscription (Ref: 13103055072) it doesn't seem to be active. I have receipts and all and hope we can solve this asap. How could you help me?

    Thanks in advance

@David Rosner? The order number mentioned used a different email address than this forum account. Details were sent to the email address used in the order.

My logi wired that faces outside generates 11GB a day EASILY... any small movement of a leaf etc is enough to set it off and start sending video offsite. Unfortunalty even if I were to enroll it in CircleSafe and mask these areas off from alerts , the camera would still do the same thing... I have had 4 or 5 now; I can't recommend them for watching outdoors areas AT ALL for this reason- your ISP will love you , your wallet $ will not.
