    Hi @Kevin Sage?,

Person tags aren't currently localized inside of motion zones as they apply to the whole field of view. This is because your activity list shows the person icon if we found a person anywhere within the field of view. Notifications look at the applied tags for an Activity (motion in the specified zone/s, is a person tag present, etc)

However, person searching is limited to areas which contained motion. This is so that if you have a painting or a photograph of a person, it wouldn't constantly trigger it. Motion in front of a photograph/painting may cause the tag to be applied if the foreground / background extraction doesn't work for your scene.

I’m not sure I totally understood your answer.... so Person tags apply to the full image, and then the full image is also tagged with which zone(s) had motion, correct? So are alerts based on “motion in zone AND person tag on image” - which could report people outside the zone - or are they based on some further processing that attempts to limit the notification to only if the person was actually in the motion zone? Your first paragraph makes me think the former, but your second paragraph sounds like the latter. Can you please clarify? Thanks!

If you check the "person box", alerts are currently based on "motion in specified zone/s AND person tag on clip". The person tag applies to the bubble, and persons are searched for in any areas which contained motion.

Since bubbles can be cumulative over time, and notifications are evaluated on an ongoing basis, you can have a bubble which initially contained motion in your zone, and later (seconds to a few minutes, if continuous) a person will appear. That will then trigger an alert.
