Important information for Logitech Control Center and macOS Catalina: Update LCC before installing macOS Catalina
Pinned Featured AnsweredNote: This post was updated <11:39 AM PST>
If you use Logitech Control Center (LCC) 3.9.8 or earlier, please update to the latest version of LCC before you upgrade to macOS 10.15 (Catalina).
To install the latest version, open LCC and click on any device. From the menu bar, select Check for Updates. You can also get the latest version from the Download page here https://support.logi.com/hc/articles/360025297833
If you experience any issues, please check this FAQ: Important information for Logitech Control Center and macOS Catalina and Mojave https://support.logi.com/hc/articles/360023202814
NOTE: We are aware that after upgrading from macOS 10.14 Mojave or earlier to macOS 10.15 Catalina with LCC (Logitech Control Center) versions 3.9.8 or below, some Logitech Unifying-based devices may stop working. This is a known issue on macOS 10.15 Catalina and we’re actively working with Apple to address it.
In the meantime, if your Unifying device is not working after upgrading to macOS Catalina, please upgrade to LCC 3.9.9 from this link and reboot the system to complete the installation.
If your device is still not working, please check which version of the Unifying drivers are loaded into the system, to do so:
1. Launch Terminal from /Applications/Utilities folder
2. Run the following command :
kextstat | grep -i Logi
105 1 0xffffff7f8252b000 0x47000 0x47000 com.Logitech.ControlCenter.HIDDriver (3.9.9) BB513FDB-C9C7-3A6F-AD71-58CDD322B095 <104 76 49 25 6 5 3>
106 0 0xffffff7f82582000 0x16000 0x16000 com.Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver (1.3.9) 4E15EC6B-3BB3-3644-B366-F5EFB857C2BB <105 104 49 25 6 5 3>
If the “com.Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver” is any version other than 1.3.9, then the new driver was not properly loaded by macOS Catalina. To fix this issue, please try the following steps:
1. Start your system in Recovery Mode:
- Restart your computer (From the menu bar, click on the Apple logo and select Restart)
- Hold the "Command" and "R" keys until the Apple logo appears
2. You should see "macOS Utilities" screen, if not, repeat step (1).
3. Close this window using the red button on the top left
4. Click on "Choose Startup Disk..."
5. Then select "Restart.."
6. Lastly, select "Restart" again - you may see a spinning icon for a few minutes before rebooting.

So is this the same issue with Logitech Options? Of course I didn't check the Logitech community site before upgrading to catalina because I don't know, I figured any issues would get fixed during the months of Beta... Anyways, having the same issues as others on my MX Master connected via bluetooth. I can move the mouse and scroll but both are very slow despite all my settings in Logitech options not changing. The big thing for me is the gesture buttons and thumb buttons are not working. I don't have LCC because I thought with the MX Master only the LO app was necessary.
If it helps solve the issue, the first time I opened my computer at work connected to my displays, apple usb keyboard, and MX Master mouse via bluetooth, my computer was telling me it couldn't connect to an unidentified bluetooth keyboard. I dont have a bluetooth keyboard so not sure if it was confusing the MX Master as a keyboard or what

I have an m500 and upgraded to Catalina and updated to LCC 3.9.9 and now Control Center just says "No Logitech Devices Found". The side back/forward buttons no longer work because Control Center is the only way to make these functional on macos so this is extremely frustrating. The device is detected just fine in System Report as a Logitech mouse. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times now, different USB ports, etc. Rolling back to 3.9.8 is also now impossible because it detects and unsupported OS. Am I stuck?

For those that have options with a MX Master, I finally got mine to work by :
1. Going into settings > sec. & priv. > Privacy > and then accessibility option in the left bar. I removed the Logi Options Daemon and Logi Options permissions.
2. I went to activity monitor and force quit the Logi Options Daemon. It wouldn't force quit right away but I just kept force quitting it and eventually it quit and then immediately my mouse started working right.
**My mouse is now working correctly but In my privacy settings under "Input Monitoring" and "Screen Recording" I still have 0 apps requesting access - including Logi Options.
**At some point in my above process I turned on notifications (turned off do not disturb) in case I was getting a log options notification asking for permission and wasn't seeing it. - I did have notifications from logi options.

This is not Logi software related. Even without the software installed, my mice with a unifying receiver don't work. I plug in the dongle, and they'll work for a couple of seconds. M705 for example.
Note that I am able to use my G602 Gaming Mouse without issue, and the old gaming software works just fine.
This has been an issue since at least JUNE with the Catalina beta!

UPDATE: My very old M510 works just fine with and without LCC installed. Note that one does not use Logi Options like newer products (such as my M705) mentioned in the Reddit thread.

So I finally got mine fixed after playing around with it. I tried Logitech's instructions and it didnt make a difference but after installing the update to Logitech options, I then went into activity monitor and force quit the Logi Options Daemon. It wouldnt force quit at first so I tried multiple times and eventually it did force quit and then all of a sudden everything started working on my mouse again. Dont know if that will help any of you but its worth a shot

Hooray! My K400r keyboard is working again!
I had updated to Catalina without updating to LCC v3.9.9 first and the keyboard refused to pair. So followed LogiLaurie's instructions to install LCC 3.9.9, reboot, run "kextstat | grep -i Logi" [which showed the old com.Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver (1.3.8)], then went through the process of restarting in recovery mode. After that "kextstat | grep -i Logi" showed the new driver [com.Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver (1.3.9)] and the keyboard is working like a champ.
Excellent job Laurie! Thank you.

What amazes me are the steps we have to take to correct this issue. My M720 is not functioning despite my attempts to follow the guidance from Logitech and others on this board.
Sangram's point about complexity is spot on and points to how ill-prepared Logitech was in ensuring their product was compatible with macOS Catalina. Further aggravating the situation is that Logitech has yet to issue a fix that is simple and easy to implement for us average users. Time for their engineers to step up their game.

I'm having the exact same issue, but I am on the latest update to Mojave, 10.14.6. Everything worked fine until I updated Logitech Control Center to version 3.9.9. Now my unifying recevier app sees my Performance MX mouse, but LCC does not. I can't use Logi Options as it does not support the Performance MX.
So frustrating. I've always been a big Logitech fan, but I have had so many issues with their devices on Mac over the past year... I am about ready to just give up and move onto another manufacturer.
