Hey everyone. I have another solution. I just an earlier Logitech Webcam software in my downloads folder. It is only the camera controls for zooming, panning, contrast, exposure, white balance, etc. It does not contain any of the screen in screen features. It is lws 2.8 (exe) and 71mb download. I didn't see it in the latest available downloads on Logitech site, but it works with the latest version of Zoom as it is an independent camera only control. ANyway it can be downloaded here: https://we.tl/t-N7cmTUq9rf   Hope this helps.

Also broke it for me! Is this a problem with Zoom or Logi?

I raised a ticket with Zoom. Let's see how far that gets...

Do Logitech technical support read these, or is this just community sharing. If they don't then maybe we should all post to:

    Logi Support <support@logi.com>

in the hope this gets some action from them, and likewise with ZOOM,  maybe :

    Zoom Video Communications teamzoom@zoom.us

    or

    Zoom Video Communications support@zoom.us

I also raised a ticket with Logitech as I only just bought their most expensive webcam and now the software is not working after less than 2 weeks. However, I asked them to confirm if the fault is with the Logi Capture software or with Zoom. If the problem is with Zoom then it's not Logitech's fault.

Given Logitech knows how many cameras they have sold recently, they could go back to Zoom and tell them how many tens of thousands of people are almost certainly affected. A lot of the features which persuaded me to buy the new StreamCam are effectively disabled now.

Elliot Young I also have contacted both companies Support areas and have not heard back. I am having no trouble with the Camera Control App. with my c920 on Windows 10, but I did delete Logi Capture from my system and reboot before I installed Logitech Camera Control.

If you've been on any of the Zoom calls, you will know that most of them use and recommend Logitech cameras. I can't believe they don't know about it. Just are busy elsewhere trying to scale up their servers for the increased demand. Logitech doesn't seem to let us know they even have software. Most people probably don't even realize this application (Logi Capture) exists.

Same issue with my Brio. A Zoom software updated triggered at the conclusion of a meeting. I updated, rebooted, and now have camera access issues when Logi Capture is open.

Elliott Young, It's definitely a Zoom issue.  The version released 4/2 seems to have been the culprit.  There's a new release scheduled for tomorrow.

I believe it's Zoom also.  They made a hasty update to attempt to thwart some of the security "risks" of Zoom (basically, allowing people to do stupid things with their own Zoom accounts and meeting settings is a security risk).  I am very hopeful that this upcoming release will fix this LogiCapture problem, but I doubt that it would be top of Zoom's list since the typical knee-jerk reaction to security issues is, "disallow!  lockdown!  don't serve, protect!"

Here's hoping we get this functionality back soon...

I think that is exactly right. What about (temporarily) opting out of Zoom? Anyone using alternatives they like?

I have always been a big fan of Google Meet, but mainly because of how simple and clean it is (I use the Enterprise Edition, which has now also been made available for free to Google Apps for Education users).  The only technical requirement is Chrome browser.  It has very few of the features offered by Zoom, but it DOES see the LogiCapture output as a camera input so you can control your Google Meet video feed through the Logi app (which is what we just lost from Zoom).

I have really only been using Zoom because of its instant popularity leading to so many people who would never have tried to videoconference at all now embracing it.   However, because Meet is SO simple, there's really nothing for users to learn and it is great if you want something super-simple and robust that allows you to use your LogiCapture camera feed.

Thanks, that's an excellent description. I'm also looking into Starleaf and Lifesize, which offers 4k streaming.

Zoom is aware of this problem.

Here is a link discussing the issue:   https://github.com/CatxFish/obs-virtual-cam/issues/78

James Starke was looking for a version with video background capability. I can verify that this rollback from zoom restores functionality to the logicapture software (and also restores functionality for the OBS virtual cam)     "https://zoom.us/client/4.6.18176.0301/ZoomInstaller.exe"

I note on the zoom site that they are planning another release on 7 April 2020, so be sure to save the rollback and/or shut off the auto update feature in zoom.

    https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201361953-New-Updates-for-Windows

(P.S. I'm new to this form of posting and trying to figure out the proper protocols. I posted the above info last night under a different thread because I had not found this one first. I apologize in advance if I'm messing up the flow of things!  Former post: https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360042984253/comments/360011180633 )

Kevin Ladd, Thanks for the info!  Just curious... I looked everywhere for 18176.0301.  How were you able to locate older versions on Zoom's support site?  Did you just have to know their URL naming protocol?

Jeff DeKonty, I discovered the official zoom rollback link in a github post by Brian Clark/MajorMalarky ( https://github.com/CatxFish/obs-virtual-cam/issues/78#issuecomment-608700535 ) .

According to his post he had phone contact with zoom and they recommended a rollback. I tried the version zoom initially recommended to him and that did not solve the issue.

Another github user (QueenSayel   https://github.com/CatxFish/obs-virtual-cam/issues/78#issuecomment-603482332 ) had earlier discovered a link for 18176.0301 serendipitously saved in download manager. Brian was quick enough to remember that post and zoom provided the direct link.

    Circuitous but effective.

FYI: This morning, zoom performed an auto-update (haven't discovered a way around that yet with the corp account; any suggestions appreciated) and the 7 April version ( 4.6.19256.0401 ) is not compatible with logicapture (2.00.226) that I'm using.

(Not sure why, but the original link I noted for the github conversation apparently has to be copied and pasted into a browser or it does not resolve properly.)

Hmmm... Even with both the new version of Zoom and current version of Capture are not working for me. I'm still receiving the same message as before. I'm at a loss at this point.

Try uninstalling Capture, rebooting and then reinstall. That worked for me. Remember Zoom added a new install yesterday 4.6.10.

Thanks. Tried that & still not working. Ugh!! Also tried uninstalling Zoom & reinstalling. No dice.

I think the new version and Logitech and ZOOM may be working but haven't tested at a new meeting yet. After installing them, nothing seemed to have changed. So, I started ZOOM but instead of joining a meeting I logged into my a/c from within the Zoom a/c (not the website), then Settings and Video. The drop down for the camera had both Computer and Capture, selected Capture, tested it and it seemed to be ok.

    I'm still having issues.

In setting/video I had the choice HP Pro Webcam C920 or Logi Capture. When opening it was defaulting to the Webcam, and it was working but with a distant image, but very direct movement. Switch to Capture, had no image at all.

I tried starting Capture manually, then going to settings. Webcam was working as before. When I tried to switch to Capture, I got an error message saying the camera wasn't available, being used by.....

Restarted ZOOM while capture was running, setting/video, this time, the default Webcam had no image, switched to Capture and got the modified image. However, in test mode, not even through a live meeting, the video was nearly 2 seconds slower than my voice.

Am assuming Capture will work in alive ZOOM meeting, but the delayed image is awful, worse than having a more distant image.

Since all the individual components seem functional and the hang-up is getting signal into zoom, from the zoom settings/video screen, have you tried going on to the "advanced" screen and using different capture options?

I was stuck trying to get zoom to send signal into OBS found via trial and error (only a few options, so not too demanding an experiment) that by using anything rendering option other than auto or flip, the signal went right through.

I have ABSOLUTELY no knowledge of what's "under the hood" of these programs or any inkling of WHY the diff settings might be influential, but having tried the diff combinations, it's never hurt anything, so I toss this out as a suggestion.

I am certain that many others here have a very great depth of knowledge, so they might be able to either immediately discredit this thought or provide substantive ideas of what combinations of capture and render might work optimally in your context.

    Kevin Ladd.

Thanks for your suggestion. I have no idea what these advanced options do, but will certainly give them a trial.

there are options within ZOOM and within Capture. So quite a bit to get my head around.

Within ZOOM: Video Rendering, Post procesing, Capturing Method, and hardware acceleration options??

Within Capture: frame rate, image quality and the like??

4/15/20 Zoom (4.6.11) will accept a feed from my new stream cam, but will not recognize the feed from Logi Capture (2.0.200). I bought this specifically to use the portrait mode, which only works within Logi Capture. I've rebooted and reinstalled everything several times, and tried older versions of Zoom. Thoughts?

@matt hare have you tried reverting back to 4.6.10? This is a known-good version.

@matt hare    This sounds similar to longinthetooth's situation posted a bit earlier where the cam is recognized, but the logicapture signal is not. I don't know if adjusting the zoom settings/video screen -> "advanced" -> capture options worked for longinthetooth, but that might be worth a shot in your case as well. If it doesn't (or does) work, please post here and I'll adjust my idea list accordingly :-)

    Hi,

Zoom 4.6.11 (20559.0413) worked for me - but not Zoom 4.6.10 - using LogiTech Streamcam with Zoom camera option as Logi Capture.

Well pleased as annoyed that without Logi Capture, I had to move really close to the camera.

Thanks for thread as I would not bothered to have downloaded latest version of Zoom.

Another Zoom update fixed the problem

But now there's another: my voice is out of synch with the picture, if I use Capture with Zoom.  :-(

I'm running on a Mac here (Catalina 10.15.4), and I've just updated to the latest version of Zoom, but LogiCapture is still not working properly with zoom. :( Maybe they've focused their attention on Windows and not the Mac.

If you are on a Mac, you can get the Mac OS app Webcam Settings and it will allow controlling many aspects of the Logitech cameras (I have 922) and the settings pass through to work on ZOOM. At least that is one part of a work around until ZOOM gets it together.
