Since the Circle View has a brightness sensor I though I might use it in automations at night.
- When it's dark (< 30lux)
- And Circle View detects movement
- Turn on the light
Now there seems to be an error with how Circle View reports brightness. When it's sunny outside, my Hue Motion Sensor reports 160 lux, when it's sunny even 300+. My Circle View just comes up to 13.
Then it gets weirder.
When I want to use it in automations and I define turn on the light when you detect motion and light is < 13 lux, nothing happens. I have to put in 130 lux and then, when it gets to 12, it actually turns on. So it looks to me like a multiplication error? Multiply lux by 10?
But it gets even weirder.
When it drops below 10 to say 9 or 8, nothing works anymore. No matter what condition I add to the trigger, nothing works. Not <100, not <8. It just doesn't react at all.
I noticed that the Hue Motion sensor only reports whole numbers. And Logitech reports 8.72 lux. Maybe the way the Circle reports lux numbers with decimals does not work?
Anyway, it's a huge headache. Has anybody successfully done this and set it up? How?
