Circle View IR in 0% dark attic

Hello, I have one circle view and a 200GB iCloud acct. I think it’s great, remarkable to squeeze all that under Apple’s hood but it does have hickups, I would like to start a ticket. I have used the cam in 2 totally different scenarios since it’s join. First it was in a crows nest pointed at an outdoor driveway, set to detect People Animals Vehicles, and it did, mostly. Now I’m using it in a dark attic to sense rodent activity, and when I grab a live view in Home app I sometimes see the IR light come on after the camera is live. Like its fading up so, if the IR light WAS off, how was it going to detect anything? Does IR time out? Thanks !
