Circle View Doorbell - Offline Again - Firmware Update coming?
My Circle View doorbell continues to go offline randomly. It has been doing this almost since my original purchase and installation in January. I called and spoke with a Logi Team member a couple months back and it was shared with me that the problem stems from the unit connecting to Wifi systems that are set up as mesh, and have combination of 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz frequencies. It can randomly make the change to where and what signal it pulls from, and go offline. The Logi contact said that firmware update was necessary.
Is this update coming?
The frequency that I am having to reset the unit to get it back online is outweighing any of the benefits of the unit.
Thanks

I need the same support Tim - I installed the doorbell and even got the installation done with your experts so that it would have the right transformer. The doorbell still goes offline a lot. I also have an Orbi mesh network and I suspect that the doorbell would be more stable with 2.4 ghz but opts for 5ghz.

I too have been having that online-offline-online issue. Last night it got worse and went offline but didn’t came back online. The night time illumination lights stayed on well after the sun was up and was still offline. I had to cycle power to get the camera back online.
I too have an Orbi mesh system but the doorbell is only 10 feet from the router hotspot; the Orbi satellite is more than 100 ft farther away in the same direction. -
I have owned this camera for just over a month, random offline issue typically just a couple of hours. I purchased because I had an attempted theft of my brand new trailer. So after three years of constant work I finally this week took a vacation, yes you guessed it two day in to the vacation camera is currently offline. Logitech this is inexcusable! Now I’m on vacation and have no possible way of knowing wether my trailer or home will be burglarized. What is the point of a security camera that has no consistency. I have read all forums and workarounds, so I ask the question is this product ready for market it appears not. Beyond disappointed and will not be home to address. So now I’m spending my evening of vacation hitting up forums instead of a much deserved holiday an now having to order a product that works.

I am having these same issues with my Circle View Doorbell. I read about an upcoming firmware update (v. 8.12.14) from a reddit forum. The user said that Logitech was able to push this firmware to his doorbell and it alleviated his connectivity issues. How do I request this firmware update? As Thomas said, the need to restart daily (sometimes twice daily) is outweighing the benefits of this device.

I am having the same issue. I have an Orbi mesh network with the main device positioned about 10 feet from the door, and the doorbell goes offline multiple times a day. Sometimes not coming back online unless I remove power and then power it back up. I have also removed the doorbell completely from HomeKit and reset it to factory. I then started from the beginning and connected it back to HomeKit.
It continually fails and at the moment I'm waiting for a delivery that must be left inside. I would normally be able to see who is at the door and unlock a smart lock to them them in to deliver in the entry way. I now have no control over the doorbell and won't be alerted to the delivery.
When is this firmware update going to be released? I don't want to go to the trouble of switching back to my Arlo doorbell, but I might be forced too, just so it works.

Hi Kirkp, I just checked my current firmware version and it has been updated to 8.12.15. One of the responders above said that version 8.12.14 was supposed to fix the issue.
I have not seen the camera go offline for a few days now, but this is the first time I noticed the updated version. I'll keep an eye on it and see if this version does indeed eliminate the issue.
What version are you on?

8.12.15 has definitely helped with this. On my eeros I’ve found that I have to have band steering turned off. It seems to me that the circle view doorbell just doesn’t work on a 5ghz network setting. It works perfectly on 2.4ghz but whenever it tried to connect to the 5ghz band it fails. Hopefully they push a firmware update again that gets it to ply nice with eero devices and 5ghz wifi. So far I’m quite unimpressed with the doorbell which is a shame as the cams have been great.

I have shared how to install the firmware update on your Android smartphone. If you follow these steps, then you will enjoy all the new features that are introduced in the new firmware to use the password keeper to protect the files.
