Logitech's Mouse and Keyboard software (SetPoint) is required to program the MX Revolution scroll wheel to function as a middle button.
If you do not have the latest version of SetPoint installed you can download it from the MX Revolution Downloads Page.

Open SetPoint (Start > Programs > Logitech > Mouse and Keyboards > Mouse and Keyboard Settings).

Click on the My Mouse tab on the top of the SetPoint window.

Select the Mouse Button Settings icon on the top left of the SetPoint window.

In the Select Button area, click on Button 3.

In the Select Task area, select the option Other. Click on the button Select Function.

From the dialog window Select Other Task which pops up, select Middle Button from the drop-down menu and click OK.

Click on Apply and then OK to exit.
