When using Web Viewer or Web Commander, there is a network connection between the cameras and online servers. Desktop Commander also uses a network connection to the online servers. The connection to an online server can be affected by various things and activities, such as:
- Video or music streaming from online services
- Online gaming
- Your network's router configuration
For example, some D-Link routers have a feature called "Game Fuel". This feature usually is set to auto-detect your total upload bandwidth, and give more priority to online gaming. There have been instances where this doesn't work correctly, and it wrongly limits your total upload bandwidth. Game Fuel, in that case, can either be disabled, or you can manually set what your typical upload bandwidth is.
- ISP bandwidth
