What is Logi Download Assistant?

Logi Download Assistant is a Windows-based software notification that helps you install the Logi Options+ app for your supported Logitech device(s). This notification is only supported on Windows — macOS is currently not supported. We are improving the current version to provide broader support and a more user friendly interface.

NOTE: Currently, limited devices are compatible with Logi Download Assistant. We plan to add more Logitech devices and device categories later this year.

What are the key features of Logi Download Assistant?

Logi Download Assistant is a Windows-based notification tool. It works exactly like Windows notifications native to the Windows OS. Users have the option to install the Logi Options+ app, dismiss app pop-ups, and be reminded to install the software (up to three times). The reminders are shown when the user reboots their computer or when they update to the latest version of the Windows OS.

What are the OS requirements for Logi Download Assistant?

Windows 10 or later. MacOS is not supported.

How do I use the Logi Download Assistant tool?

Logi Download Assistant will be automatically displayed as a pop-up notification once you connect your Logitech device to a Windows PC or laptop (that supports the Logitech device).

NOTE: Logi Download Assistant is not supported in macOS.

If Logi Download Assistant displays an error, am I still able to download Logi Options+ ?

If you encounter an error, you will have an option to manually download Logi Options+ from the Logitech website.

Would I be able to dismiss the Logi Download Assistant notification to install later?

Yes, you should be able to dismiss notifications by clicking Later if you decide to download software at a later time. If you ignore the notification and take no action, it will also be available in the Windows notification tray when you are ready to install the software.

Can I uninstall the Logi Download Assistant tool ?

Yes, you can remove Logi Download Assistant by following the steps below.

1. Open the Start Menu.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Apps.
4. Select Apps & features or Installed Apps.
5. Select the ‘Logi Download Assistant’ app that you want to uninstall from the list that appears.
6. Click the uninstall button that shows under the Logitech Download assistant.

Would I be able to turn off Logi Download Assistant notifications entirely for a particular device ?

Yes, you have an option similar to the Windows notification where you can turn off notifications for Logi Download Assistant or for a specific device that is supported by Logi Download Assistant. 

To choose which notification to close, click on the three dots “...” as shown in the screenshot:

Will Logi Download Assistant be available to restricted work/corporate environments ?

Logi Download Assistant will be available for a supported Logitech device if there are sufficient permissions to install external software. If the permissions are missing (such as local administrator role required), Logi Download Assistant will not be available for the user.
