MX Master 3S Custom Button Mapping Stops Working (MacOS)

I've had an MX Master 3S for about a week, and already the custom button mapping is getting rather inconsistent performance. After a full restart it will switch mapping when apps are switched, but after a bit of time it will begin adopting an app's custom mapping across all apps (e.g. Calendars custom button mapping in Slack and Finder)

Hardware info:

2021 M1 Pro; 16gb of RAM; running OSX 13.0.1

MX Master 3S; Firmware 22.0.3

 

I really don't want to factory reset all this or have to restart every hour in the day, or give up on the customization altogether, but this is getting to the point of total unreliability

Anyone else see this or have tips?

  Thank you for this quick response :) although permissions were setup properly and the newest version of the app was installed initially, I have removed and reset everything and will follow-up if this persists.

  Despite these steps, this behavior has returned after about two hours of total use; this seems to be a software bug
