G703 scroll wheel issue - scrolling wrong direction

    You can try the following troubleshooting steps with your G703 LightSpeed Wireless Gaming Mouse to solve/isolate this issue:

     

    • Try to change the scroll lines/scroll wheel sensitivity in the system settings of your computer.
    • Try using the scroll wheel with another browser.
    • Try to uninstall the Logitech Gaming Software and check if the issue persists without it. Doing this step will isolate the issue if it's software related.
    • If possible, try using your mouse on another computer to rule out possible hardware related issues.

    thank you for your response.

     

    I tried your suggested steps.

     

    • Changed the scroll lines to different settings (3, 7, 12) - not fixed
    • Tried Google Chrome and MS Edge - not fixed
    • Tried different LGS Versions and tried without LGS - not fixed
    • Tried the mouse on a different Computer without LGS - not fixed

     

    I also opened a support ticket some day´s ago: 05789982

     

    It looks like I´m not the only person with that kind of problem, as you can see in the following reddit thread:

    As I was back to work today I had the chance to use compressed air to blow inside the mouse, so dirt would be blown out.

     

    Unfortunately it did not fix the problem.

    Same problem here with my G403 under Linux, start happen after 4 week of use...

    Opend a ticket weeks ago ...no reponse :/ What kind of customer support is this?

    I'm having the same problem. Started happening about a week after I purchased the mouse. I too would like to know whether it's software/firmware related or I should return the mouse.

    I have this with my 703, I've not yet heard back from Logitech regarding an RMA. As it seems to be less of a problem than before and is an inherent design fault anyway, I've decided to keep my mouse. I have the Powerplay charger so would be pointless changing it to a different model, unless I get a 903

    heard back, installed https://download01.logi.com/web/ftp/pub/techsupport/gaming/G703Update_1.1.5.exe which they recommended, seems a little bit less, but still happens, especially on wireless

    Yesterday I installed the new firmware for my G703, and the problem is much less now. I had to go to Logitech support site to get the firmware installer - it doesn't show up in LGS when you check for updates

    Since the new firmware update, my 703 seems to be behaving normally. The scroll wheel issue is gone and the mouse seems more responsive overall too

    The mouse has been working brilliantly for a whole week (since I bought it). All of a sudden today I'm experiencing the scroll issue.

     

    I manually installed Firmware 14.2.7 which states that it will "Fix intermittent scrolling issues experienced on some G703 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Mice"

     

    It happens less frequently but it still happens.

     

    Hopefully Logitech will fix this annoying issue soon.

    Hello @John Binay?, and thank you for the straight-up information.

     

    The firmware update mostly worked for me for the first 1-2 weeks, but after that the scrolling problem reappeared with the same error rate. I did notice that it took some time for the new firmware to solve the issue the day I installed it, and it gradually got better in the space of several minutes. I thought that maybe it's collecting data about the scroll behaviour and building an internal statistical model to do its job. If that's the case maybe that model needs to be rebuilt after several weeks. Or it could be that there's something physically deteriorating with the mouse as time passes.

     

    Anyway, these are just my observations of the problem, if they can be of any use to you. My ticket number is 06265045, I'd appreciate if you can expedite the process.

    Thank you, @John Binay?. I will keep you posted on what on see. I thought I had this in place already, but I was mistaken. The initial reaction seems to be positive, but I will watch it and see if anything occurs like it did for @Neno Ganchev?.

    @John Binay? - After a week of use, I can say that it's better. However, I am still experiencing the behavior from time to time. Even though the frequency is less, it is still annoying to deal with. Please advise as to what I should do now.

    I installed the new firmware v8.5.26 for my G603 today. The problem less frequent, but still present. @John Binay? , will there be a new firmware fixing this defect?

    I plan to buy another G603 and I hope that there will not be a problem with scrolling.
