    Hello there,

YES! I've encountered the same issue: immediately after upgrading to 11.1.x, my iPad stared having power issues.

Opened the iPad Pro in the morning and it was drained to 17%. Replaced the power brick, wires, and it seemed to start charging. Then again, when I later re-opened the case, it wasn't charging. Removing and reconnecting the cable got it going again.

Decided to completely reset the iPad (as per Apple's less than helpful tips), and again, same issue. That's when i realized that even though the Create's keyboard was lit up and working, it was the connecting / unconnecting the keyboard that would interrupt the charging, and confuse the iPad.

So yes, the keyboard works, and even though those special connectors are clean and working, iOS seems to be confused / unable to charge with the keyboard connected.

Hope either Apple or Logitech fix this, but imagine that neither will support this (once very expensive) case.

    Shame.

    -Ira

I’m having the same problem. I thought it was my keyboard so I purchased a new one. It’s still doing the same thing. I contacted Apple Support and they tell me it is Logitech’s problem.

Yes, I’ve got exactly the same problem, Logi Create keyboard on iPad Pro 9.7. Problem only started happening at iOS11. Apple have also suggested to me I should contact Logitech.

So, interestingly, I don’t get the power disconnects if I have an Apple camera kit inline to the power supply.

I have discovered that if I open my ipad and set it up to type, then plug in the power it stays on and charges. If, however, I have it open and typing and I plug it in, it does not charge. Definitely an iOS 11 problem. Apple told me that it was Logitech that needed to do a hardware update to be compatible with the iOS 11.

I'm on my third iPad and I've learned not to upgrade due to Apples ability of making your device obsolete. If you're happy with your iPad don't upgrade!!

I opened a ticket with Logitech on Nov 14, and surprised and disappointed that I haven’t heard anything... At least I know what brand to avoid now for my future accessories. Anyone else ever hear a response?

This is an issue with all Logitech Crete keyboard / case combinations, the only way to get it to work is to plug it in to the iPad Pro after you make the smart connection. With that being said, handle the iPad Pro carefully, if you break the connection and reconnect the iPad, you need to unplug the iPad Pro and plug it back in at the iPad Pro. I also have an iPad Air and and the Logitech Crete backlit keyboard on that one and it works fine. The problem is in the “Smart connector” and iOS 11.1 and 11.2, so don’t think it’s your iPad Pro. I have tried multiple iPad Pros and multiple Crete backlit keyboards, same issue with all combinations. Neither company wants to fix the issue, I have started a ticket with Apple also.

I spoke with Apple tech support again today very disappointed with the answer the senior advisor gave me. After explaining the issue to him he told me “It’s not our problem” it’s a Logitech problem. I explained I he issue didn’t start until after the iOS 11 update and he said it’s still a Logitech problem. I went to the Apple store also, they did try to help me out but no luck. I. Finally got aggravated enough I had to go out and buy a competitors case and keyboard. I didn’t want to spend the money but I need my equipment to work the way it’s supposed to work. The new keyboard appears that it will be a good choice for me. I’m still going to see if the Logitech keyboard gets the update that it needs though, by then I will most likely stick *** the new keyboard, itt seems to be wort the investment. VERY unhappy with Logitech though and i’ve Been using their keyboards for years. So in short I found that a Zagg rugged pro works best for me. In fairness to Logitech, one tech support advisor did offer to replace my keyboard bu I told him the problem would be the same with a nw one.

The problem is the same with a new keyboard. I have already purchased another one because I thought it was my keyboard. The new one does the same thing. I just received an email from customer support today trying to have me go through troubleshooting they recommend. Already did all that.

There is no fix from our end, the fix has to come from Logitech or Apple via a OS update by apple or a firmware update from Logitech. Doesn’t look promising from either party. That’s why I purchased a keyboard made by another company.

From my perspective Logitech owns this. If they don't have a fix then they need to be staying close to Apple on updates. I ordered and received a new keyboard this week from another manufacturer. Half the price and a much better product. My Logitech went out in the trash this morning.

Well it’s official, Just received a call back from an Apple senior advisor. He had been in contact with apple engineers and their response was, they WILL NOT be working on the keyboard issue because it’s a Logitech issue. Being a third party product it’s up to Logitech to keep up with Apple. So if your waiting for Apple to fix this it’s not happening, I’m not convinced that Logitech will not fix it either so i’m sticking with the keyboard I purchased from another company. Which by the way I love.

Sorry don’t know about beta 11.2. If you unplug and plug back in from the side of you iPad after it is docked it should start to charge.

yeah, it starts charging, and will work while i use the device, but if i close the cover, it just stops, so if i want to leave the ipad charging i need to undock the keyboard. negating the screen protection, its really a shame, hopefully they'll be able to figure out whats going on

Update on keyboard issue; I spoke with Logitech customer service today and the rep on the phone told me he checked with their engineering department. According to the rep there has been an update to the new keyboards to fix the problem. They are sending me a new keyboard that appearenly has the new software in it, he stated that it will fix the problem. As soon as it arrives and I can verify it either way I will update again. Hopefully they are telling me the truth and the problem does in fact get rectified.

I’m glad you got some kind of answer. I received another email yesterday and today telling me to do all the steps of troubleshooting and restarting my iPad and hard restarting! I told this person that apparently she doesn’t bother to read all my previous emails. She still insists it is my iPad. Ugh!

Well here is the update on the charging problem; I received the replacement Create keyboards today from Logitech and not surprising to me at all, they do the same thing as the old ones. They lied to me and told me they had the new software in them and the charging problem would be resolved. I sent them an email expressing my displeasure with their handling of the problem. I’m very disappointed with Logitech right now. It can’t possibly be all of our iPads, it’d definitely the keyboard software. I think its time to switch all my keyboards to another manufacturer.

Same problem here with 10.5" iPad Pro. Charging is intermittent, or stops, with cover closed. I've used different cables and chargers (all genuine Apple) and the same thing happens. I reset the iPad from time to time anyway, and same problem.

My engineering guess is that there are magnets or magnetic things in the keyboard part of the "Slim" Combo, and maybe the iPad senses them funny? Maybe something with the connector?

Well i wrote a support ticket, they'll be checking my warranty status, and tell me my choices from there, they seem to be acknowledging there's an issue

Well, I am now on my 8th correspondence with Logitech. The tech who is working my support ticket is a yo-yo. They keep asking me to follow the troubleshooting tips. When I advise them to look at the Forums that I am not the only one with this issue, they do not look. Of course they are recognizing there is a problem with the keyboard but are sending a replacement! As Kevin has already received one, I know the problem will still exists. So I have provided my address for shipping. I know they aren’t reading the email fully because I have provided this information twice. And they keep asking.

I contacted Logitech again on Wednesday and they said the engineering department would call me within 48 hours, it’s now Friday and no call. What a surprise. I have put the new Logitech away in the box in case of emergency. I switched to the Zagg rugged book pro for my keyboard choice and it’s doing a great job, Zagg says the battery can last up to two years between charges. They also have a slim book pro. Both are Bluetooth and can be separated from the iPad Pro and still work.Teina, you might want to take a look at the Zagg keyboards, they are worth the investment.
