+1 for this. Frank, you might as well have made a copy + paste of your answer from this thread: https://community.logitech.com/s/question/0D55A000074bQj2SAE/logitech-options-for-linux

People actually want a Linux port of this. If you wish to appeal to developers you have to create it, just saying.

Hi @Vicente Jr Venus?, for me it's just like @Peter Sjöqvist? said. I want to add that I would also like to know about the development of this situation. I got recommended the MX master as one of the best there is for productivity and bought it. As I work on linux (ubuntu 16 to be precise), I'm really disappointed I can't customize the configuration on my mouse.

Feels like you go the extra mile with the hardware, but without the software, this mouse is almost just like any other, and cheaper, ones.

I'm really hoping to get an answer soon. Thanks for the help.

@Ariel Carvalho de Jesus?  I'm also on ubuntu and kubuntu, and have found a relatively simple way to remap the MX Master 2s buttons and especially the horizontal scrollwheel to something else using xinput set-button-map (or writing a conf file to make it permanent) and xbindkeys, the thumb button can't be remapped but it presses ctrl+alt+tab so you can just set that hotkey to do something, the shift-scroll button is also unmappable, fortunately I really like its original function, gestures also don't work... if you are using the unifying receiver you can use solaar to set the dpi, just make sure to get the latest version from their git page, but if you are on bluetooth there is no way to change the dpi :/ it's a shame though... COME ON LOGITECH, A SMALL DRIVER TO SET THE DPI, THAT'S ALL I'M ASKING FOR

F.Y.I. Linux does have an app for Unifying receivers and it's called 'Solaar'. I use it to setup all my logitech devices, and even to pair multiple devices to one receiver. If you're on ubuntu you can apt-get install it, and I believe you can get the tar for other distro's. gives full control of function/hotkeys etc.

    Same request here.

I switched from a 10 years old MX Revolution to a MX Master 2s for my work.

I heavily use linux OS for my softwares development and would love to bind all the keys available on this mouse to improve my work

i'm currently using Ubuntu 16.04 but i will switch soon to 18.04.

I hope Logitech Options will soon be available on linux since the main reason of my purchase is the thumb button that is ingenious !

For now i'm using Solaar and xbindkeys to rebind the thumb wheel but that's all i can do.

(i would like to rebind the button behind the mouse wheel, i would like to do some combo with the thumb button, etc)

+1 on this issue. Linux support would be greatly appreciated for all Logitech products. Linux does a good job, but manufacturer support is always better.

Are there any more updates to this? I'd really like to be able to use Flow on my Ubuntu box with my Macbook and my Windows machine.

Since Apple keep raising prices of macbooks. More developers have switched to linux base os, so Logitech should really consider making software for linux. (I have Mx master and k780 to control ubuntu 18, lacking of button configuration just driving me crazy......)

    Hi @屏川 戴,

I see so that's the reason why mostly of the developers switching on Linux.

@Paolo Dino Oddone is Ubuntu part of Linux? (Sorry for my question as I'm no that quite familiar with Ubuntu).

@Vicente Jr Venus? Yes, Ubuntu is a *nix distro. And yes, we still want Options on *nix.

Thanks for Your support @Logi_Frank Linux is distributed with "Distributions" and Ubuntu is a 'distro' based on Debian. Theres a lot information how to generate and distributed a package for install on linux at wiki pages of Debian or Ubuntu and Red Hat. Hi @Vicente Jr Venus?,

It would be fantastic if a full driver-suite (with the logitech options) could be ported to Linux. It would greatly help my productivity as a software engineer if I could get full support on Linux as well.

A word of advice would be to target a Ubuntu LTS release as it would hit the largest of your potential demographics (Being designers, programmers or other types of power users). It also wouldn't be as big of a task as you might think as there is always the option of reaching out to major actors (Ubuntu's Snapcraft team f.ex.) or the Linux community itself.

A prime example of what the community can do is the open-source driver for the Logitech Unifying receiver: https://pwr.github.io/Solaar/

Frankly I love logitech , I think it's really time they took a little financial risk that will bring back I'm absolutely sure because there is a growing market of linux users or who would like to pass but often having recent equipment cruelly lack linux carrying of their equipment and you would be really well inspired to do it... Maybe it won't be the golden goose, but in terms of brand recognition, then you'd hit a good marketing move that might have an economic impact

And not only I also use ubuntu and debian and the use of flow and logi options would be really great! There is already solaar but a help from you would be appreciated by all the messages prove it

    Yours sincerely

I'd love to see real OEM support, but Solaar, ltunify and pairing_tool exist and appear to function on the most common devices.

Yes, this would be wonderful. Full Options and peripheral support for Logitech devices on *nix would be truly great. Logitech peripherals are excellent, but their functionality in *nix is limited (to say the least). Please give us Options in Linux!
