For those of you who have problems with middle mouse not working try this..I know it sounds like a joke but honestly worked for me:

Put your mouth right up to the wheel and blow hard into it a few times.

Maybe just dust built up on the sensor under the wheel.

I see this hasn't had any type of reply, and that it was two years ago as I type this. But I have just posted to mention my middle mouse button was loosing it's assignment on the default profile on every restart (possibly other profiles too, but I hadn't noticed that, and possibly left the generic mapping on those other profiles)

I wonder if this was / is the same thing?

    Hmm, that's interesting.

There is a further oddity, for me, which is this has also started "touching" all the profile xml files and in attition to the middle mouse button being reset one of my keyboard shortcuts is being reset (G910). It's the only one I change regularlly. Basically, it seems the software is updating all the xml files and copying them from a backup (perhaps, speculation here only) - that's the effect, anyway.

And to be more exact, these things might have started at the same time but I only noticed this second effect more recently.

I might look to do some crazy sync / batch job to cope with this but it is very very annoying.

I wonder, Will and Patrick, if you have a Logitech keyboard too and could see if those profiles are also being changed on your side? Between us we can perhaps give the devs a very thorough bug report! :)

Oh, and my mouse is the 502, I'm using W10 (latest) and LGS 9.02

I found a similar thread on another forum and mine is "working" again, but you just have to click down very hard on the middle mouse button. It's not comfortable, but it does work, and sometimes goes back to normal click sensitivity, but sometimes back to the very hard clicking required.

    Hi Patrick

Maybe try a compressed air can into the wheel slot.

Some of the "pound shops" sell them. or Amazon etc. They look like WD40 cans with a long nozzle taped to the side so you can direct the air to where you want. I use them for blowing out the cooling fins on the CPU or GFX card heatsinks.

I'm not affiliated with logitech in any way but they're by far the most relialbe mice(lol) I've used. Last 3 did on average around 5 years each before biting the dust and I use the hell out them in gaming etc.

Just wish they'd realise tha most folks use the heel of their hand on the desk while using a mouse.

The forward in-game sensitivity controls are too far forward to be any use to me unless you have hands like a giant.

I just buy them because they've way outlasted anything else I've ever tried over the years and I'm an old git so I know :)
