[Feature Request] Apple HomeKit support for Logitech Harmony Hub Based Remotes

    I can understand you'd like to know whether Harmony is compatible with Apple Homekit. 

    Currently, Harmony is not compatible with Apple Kit but thank you for bringing this concern to us. It is because of customers like you with valuable input that we continue to strive for improvement every day as we constantly evaluate with new features and integrations to add to our products. Please note that your concern has been brought up to the attention of our Product Management team already, hopefully it's something that our team can take into consideration going forward. Admittedly, I'm unable to provide a timeline for this.

    Thank you for sharing the link and we are aware of that. I have already forwarded this to our Product Management team and it’s in internal discussions. Hopefully, it will be available in the future. But, I don’t have any timeline for availability of this.

    In other words Logitech ‘pull your finger out’

     

    why is this taking so long?

     

    in this day and age we should be able to voice control our ‘activities’ through siri.

     

    Please sort or you will loose out from customers on the AV community who are already looking at alternatives.

    I very much support this request to add HomeKit support to the Logitech Harmony line. I have a Harmony hub and find it rather annoying that I cannot use Siri to control it. It looks like Apple is taking down any barriers that logitech may have felt were in place before. This is a software solution — it is no longer a hardware issue as it was before. Logitech needs to work with Apple to get this done. Please remember that there is a very, very large share of phone, tablet, and watch Users who have Apple devices. HomePod might not be huge yet, but with all those other Siri enabled devices out there, logitech needs to make this happen. Don’t think that Alexa and Google are the only voice control systems that your customers use. Without Siri and HomeKit you are missing a huge market.

    Yes please. It is ridiculous that we pay for a premium device like the harminey elite which works brilliantly and yet it is taking so long to move this forward. At least give us some news, tell us what or where the issue is. Otherwise, just as Harrand23 said... pull your finger out

    Made a support account to throw my hat in the ring: please add HomeKit support to the Harmony Hub, Logitech. Apple may have rigid protocols to implement, but as @Gregg Hayes? said, this is now a matter of a software update rather than shipping new hardware. Siri support is essential to many who are invested in Apple's ecosystem as HomeKit matures, and when iOS 12 releases next month "prosumers" will certainly be looking at the playing field of smart remote products and make buying decisions based on ecosystem support.

    I would also like to see HomeKit integration. At present this is a barrier to me buying what could become an expensive white elephant. Perhaps Logitech could commit publicly to providing firmware updates that would provide this functionality when it is ready? A timeline would be great too. :-)

     

    This would take some of the risk out for "early adopters" (not that early really).

     

    I understand that saying it is "just software" now is a bit disingenuous. There are still barriers to be overcome. However, being open about the path forward would go some way to allowing customers to purchase with confidence.

    I’m fed up waiting on Harmony to pull their fingers out and make Harmony feature agnostic to HomeKit having waited for literally nearly two years. I contacted Neeo who make a similar remote control and they had this to say:

     

    “Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in NEEO.

    Yes! Apple Homekit is currently active with the NEEO and is in beta along with Amazon Alexa. We understand the high demand for voice control and are happy to be working with these devices. The Dev team is working hard to complete these features and make the NEEO completely compatible with these devices. I know the team is working on allowing Apple watch app, but do not have a time frame on when this will be released. However, you can ask Siri, and Alexa, to power on your device :). We also appreciate you putting the vote in for this feature and we will keep working to have it fully functional.

     

    Incidentally I got a response to my query *the same day*, and they are very transparent on what the community wants in the product’s direction and allow you to vote for features. Refreshing eh?

    Just throwing my 2 cents in as well. Really waiting for this feature before pulling the trigger on buying The Logitech Harmony Elite w/Hub. So make it happen soon!

    Now that Logitech has killed the connection between their Harmony Hub with HomeBridge by closing port 5222 with their latest firmware update (whether it's wanted or not), I hope it's because they'll finally include HomeKit in they next iteration of the Harmony Hub

    So I am asking for the second time to open this up. Or at least speak to your customer base. Be honest why you haven’t, to date done, anything about this.

    Agreed, Logitech need to support all the people using HomeKit at home for automation and level the playing field with other voice assistants which they already support. The technical barriers for not doing so have been removed by Apple. The responsibility to do so because there basically isn’t any competition in the market for what the Harmony does is even more pressing.

    Please, dear Logitech team. Please add HomeKit support. When I bought into the Harmony system I was convinced you would add HomeKit soon, yet nothing has happened yet. I thought that a leading company like Logitech would keep up with current technologies. Please! I’ll buy a harmony for every room if you’ll support HomeKit! Thanks!!

    Yes, please add HomeKit support, I’ve been using HomeBridge a few years, and it’s freaking awesome, all my non tech friends wants it, but not hacked like Homebridge
