Feature suggestion: Option for easy-switch to link keyboard & mouse

    Dear Customers,

    Thank you for reaching out to us. We really appreciate this kind of feedback to help us improve.

    Our current solution for people who want to switch both the keyboard and the mouse at the same time is to use our Flow software.

    The Logitech Flow Multi-Device Control and Easy File Sharing Software allows the mouse to control the switching between two computers in a fluid way. When your cursor reaches the end of one screen, it will switch to the next computer as if you were using two screens on a single computer, and the keyboard follows. Based on the feedback we get from users, it seems that people really enjoy this functionality.

    Your suggestion is a good idea for people who cannot install the Flow software and we will consider this in our future developments.

    The main challenge is the need to build some kind of integration using Bluetooth, and the current Bluetooth protocol will require us to design some significant workarounds, including a new hardware redesign.

    Although we can't commit to a timeline yet, please know that your feedback has been prioritized by our engineers as a feature request. We'll provide periodic updates on our progress in the Community.

    I will initiate my considerations about this post asking apologies for the capsized letters below, but I need to reinforce some important points here.

    It's been a year since this Idea was shared for the first time by J MAC and the only official position of Logitech is "well... maybe we'll share this idea with our team and maybe that team will do something about it. Simply because we didn't ask you for your opinion, and we don't necessarily really care about your ideas...". SUCH ARROGANCE!

    And Reading to the Unsolicited Submission Policy is DISGUSTING!

    "Logitech or any of its employees do not accept or consider unsolicited ideas, including ideas for new products, product improvements, new technologies, processes, materials, services, advertising or promotion campaigns, marketing, or new product names. Please do not submit any unsolicited ideas, suggestions, proposals, comments, or materials in any form to Logitech or any of its employees."

    This is offensive! It's like to say to your customers that you don't even care about their ideas and  you literally don't want to hear it!
    Customers nowadays want and NEED a more close contact to the companies, to the development and design teams.

    It's SIMPLE! It's a straightforward and easy to deploy feature. No one here is asking you money, credits or even a simple mention. Just to take this idea and develop something in that direction.

    What everyone here is asking is just to add this feature! PERIOD!

    I'm using the Logitech Craft Keyboard from a few hours ago (YES! Just bought it!) and the leak of this feature DROVE ME CRAZY! The combo Logitech Craft + MX Vertical would be AMAZING if some simple already suggested feature was at least decently considered from Logitech.

    Let's first talk about Logitech Flow: It can be great feature IF AND ONLY IF your security Wi-Fi policies allow it and let me say that: Logitech Flow can raise some security concerns for any seriously security oriented environment (not only in a business but also at home), even considering that the data is encrypted from peer to peer.


    You should take this amazing FEEDBACK seriously, not only as a potentially very nice feature that it really is, but also as valid alternative to the already existing feature "Keyboard Link" within the Logitech Flow.

    And take everything that I wrote here as a FEEDBACK considering also your pathetic and disgusting Unsolicited submissions policy: "Although Logitech cannot accept your unsolicited submissions, we do welcome your feedback regarding our existing products.".


    So PLEASE: take this as a Feedback, roll up your sleeves AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

    it truly makes no sense to think that the only good ideas would come from some suit and not the ones using the hardware/software in any number of ways you couldn't imagine.

    LogiLauri,

    Why a hardware redesign should be necessary considering that the feature already exists with the Flow. I understand the necessity of a software workaround but a hardware redesign means that there's a physical limitation but this doesn't look like the case right now.
    The keyboard is already automatically migrated from a computer to another using the flow. And in the easy-switch tab (in my case for the Craft Keyboard) in the Logitech Options we already see all the computer associated with every single options from 1 to 3.
    Sincerely a complete physical redesign don't fit if that was the case, not even the Flow could work because there's a physical limitation. But the Flow WORKS and  works with a mouse in a lot more complex way, also with a keyboard command (in that case recognizing the Cntrl button pressed and the Edge of the screen).
    So the keyboard and the mouse already work together, it's just a software feature that should be added not a complete redesign or a protocol limitation... if that was true not even the flow could works.

    At least at this moment with the information that I have, I don't see that your explanation is satisfactory. It doesn't fit with the single thing that works minimally and with huge limitations.

    And say there's a hardware limitation also for your highest end keyboard that costs 200€ is not nice at all.
    Again and unfortunately I'm still disappointed

    Would be great to have this feature! Using the MX Keys and the MX Master 3 together. Can't use Flow due to network policies on my work laptop.

    Why Bluetooth since there is the "Unifying Receiver"? Perhaps tie this feature to only work with Unifying Receivers.

    The Unifying protocol is property of Logitech, they can do whatever they want with it, this feature can be implemented even for older devices via firmware update, most Logitech devices use nrf24LU1P integrated circuit or even powerful ones, they are totally capable of doing what we are asking.

    An other thing is that Logitech maybe don't want to release this feature because of business reasons, but keep in mind that consumers don't forget and if Logitech does not heard what seems to be one of the most requested featured for the flagship products, we will probably choose an other brand in the future.

    OMG yes!!! THIS.

    I've reverted to having a second mouse on my desktop so I can click the button on the MX Keys and then just use the other mouse instead of turning my MX Master 3 over and clicking the single button multiple times to the right connection.

    Often my computers are on two separate networks (one one a VPN), so Flow won't work in that circumstance.

    When my computers are on the same network, I've found Flow to be very unreliable. I use the "Hold Ctrl and move to the edge of the screen" method to prevent unintended transfers, but the amount of time I spend holding Ctrl and mashing the mouse against the side of the screen over and over to get it to switch leaves me saying bad words.

    Stop the bad words, Logitech. Please?

    Please make this feature. Or at least a workaround... F.E. button could work for the keyboard AND mouse between different unifying controllers or mouse thumb button should let remap functionality to switch devices...

    I was shocked to learn that I couldn't do this. It was my sole purchasing point for both devices. I will be returning back to Amazon so this nice hardware can be melted down... ;-(

    Microsoft's Mouse Without Borders works just fine with keyboard switching (taking mouse with it), so presumably the hardware limitation that Logitech has mentioned relates to Macs only.

    Following the suggestion of other guy on this community I added a negative review to my Amazon purchase of Logitech MX Keys and Logitech MX Master 3, I hope my review reaches many people and allows them to take a better decision before their expensive purchase. I suggest every one to do the same to avoid others the frustration we are suffering and also maybe somebody at Logitech finally reacts after 2 years of the initial request.

I’m sure every person who bought the top end mouse and keyboard you provide is feeling the same disappointment. Please react! And with the product we have purchased, not in a new one!
