    Hi KatCeDe,

MyHarmony for Windows will continue as is.  The new 64 bit Harmony Desktop is only for macOS 10.15 Catalina.

    Thank you.

This is not serious, is it?

Exactly for the "high end" models, you stop the support for the latest MacOS version? What kind of support is this?

    1. I don't have a Windows PC (and will surely not purchase one for this one configuration software)

    2. The mobile versions of the configuration software are a) limited and b) even more impractical that the harmony software on an PC/Mac

    3. I will surely update my Mac to the latest version, and won't keep an outdated OS just for logitech SW

To be honest, I am MORE THAN disappointed with this "solution", which in my case is just NO SOLUTION. Why the hell don't you just upgrade the existing MyHarmony to 64 Bit???

This company has turned into a complete Shit Show.

2 years of people complaining no update for Harmony software, NOW, Logitech at the 11th hour wants help from the community to release some new software product? And you want us to BETA TEST? What the hell have you been doing that last 24 months? Beta testing should have already happened and the software already rolling out......

Sorry, most of your community has left for greener pastures. Where were you the last 2 years? Pathetic.

    Hi Logitech

I own 4 Harmony Elites and 3 Harmony Hubs in two locations.

I’m not a Windows user and I’ve found it cumbersome to configure my activities and devices using the iOS app therefore I never do this and have instead been using my Mac for years.

I will however be updating to macOS 10.15.

I would like to register my dissatisfaction with your “solution” which frankly isn’t much if a solution at all. You’ve had plenty of time to get your act together but I can only assume either sheer incompetence or total laziness has lead to you finally, posting the above “solution”.

Any business which valued its Mac customers would have upgraded the software, and indeed the vast majority do.

I translate: "We haven't kept up with updates to MyHarmony, and now a big framework XYZ, of which we are still using a version from 2014, doesn't even compile for 64 bit (or "has been abandoned and its GIthub owner disappeared" 😂). Bringing MyHarmony up to date will cost 5x more than rewriting it from scratch. Thus, we will rewrite it from scratch, modern frameworks have significantly improved features."

I bet you $50 that this conversation happened somewhere in Logitech within last 6 months.

Are you planning to release a 64 bit version for your RF and IR remotes, like my Logitech 900s?

Just when I thought Harmony products and services couldn’t get any worse. What a disaster.

The current Mac desktop app is a dumper fire but I bear with it because it’s still slightly less of a garbage pile than the iOS app. Now mac users will be stuck with a steaming pile of ____ because Harmony doesn’t know how to run basic aspects of a company.

Can someone suggest an alternative to Harmony? I mostly like Logitech as a company but the Harmony division is a complete joke.

It's hard to know what planet they are on with developing a new macOS desktop application and then not bothering to make it work with your most expensive/high end remotes thus completely shafting loyal Mac customers.

Thank you for taking your time to write to us. Allow me to assist you going forward.

Harmony desktop software can update multiple remotes on the same account if you wanted to make both remote to function on the same devices that you have. if you're going to control a different set of devices, then you need to create a new account. Upon checking, you already updated both Harmony 880 remote in one account and both Harmony 880 will be controlling the same devices that you have on your account.

64bit MacOS Harmony Application will be released before the end of August according to our Engineering team.

Please feel free to reply on this email if you have inquiries or questions and we will be more than happy to assist you again with any concerns.  Once this case is solved, you will be receiving a quick customer satisfaction survey regarding the products and the services that we offered. Any comments and feedback will definitely be appreciated.

Please feel free to respond to this email.

    Thank you,
    Logitech Support

Please confirm the Beta release will be available as reported by your representative "Mel".

I am interested in Beta testing. Own three Model 880s. However I am unable to complete the sign up form because the 880 is not listed. Please advise.

It is important to understand how this will affect Mac OS users who have legacy Harmony controllers like the 880/890 series, the Harmony 900, Harmony 1000/1100 or older models like the 500 or 360 series and do not have the option to use either the current version of MyHarmony or the newer Harmony Desktop to be released. Is it correct to assume that these users will not be able to continue to update their controllers using the original Harmony Software v7.8.1?

Do you even plan to include support for Hubs in future versions of Harmony Desktop app?

You can't leave us only with mobile apps.

I honestly thought I'd misread this announcement - and I'm still struggling to believe it!

Surely the current top-of-the range hub remotes should be the priority for future MacOS support, rather than the legacy IR remotes?

Are there future plans to support my Harmony Ultimate/Companion/Hub on MacOS?

If not, will the iOS app be bought up-to-date so it has the same feature-set as the Desktop app?

I just cannot get over this. I'm angry at myself for sticking with this abysmal company for as long as I have. I've used Harmony products since 2003 and raved about how wonderful they were back then (the Harmony division).  However, for the last 5 years, I have been more and more disgusted with their support... going back to the firmware fiasco... when they were more concerned about selling their new Home integration remotes than fixing their existing product that had Home features. I hate using the mobile application to program my device support as it is very cumbersome. When I finally see that they are moving to a 64 bit version, I was happy to hear it until I see that my high end remote will not be supported by this application. Does anyone have a suggestion for an alternative that has Echo support? I am ready to throw my Elite in the trash.

Having just purchased two Elite/hubs and like others, for a substantial sum of money, only to learn that the software support is about to be discontinued.... that's not on, Logitech. These are your flagship remote models... they deserve the best desktop experience.  You need to reevaluate this decision.

I agree completely with the comments above.

It is illogical that you would support macOS with your high end remotes for years and years, people like us get used to it and then suddenly you just stop doing it giving us a completely unreasonable choice of either not upgrading the OS or not being able to get the same experience with our remotes that we have been used to for years.

You've had enough warning too, your users have raised this for the last year and the switch of macOS to drop 32-bit support has been coming for a long time.

Some of us have spent a lot of money on your remotes, we've got used to configuring on our Macs and you are now taking that away from us.

    Logitech, please rethink this.

That the Logitech support does not respond to the massive criticism shows the way they handle their customers...

    Extremely disapointing!

Hi - is there a download link for the new software? - I'm still getting the legacy 32 bit one

It's over 2 years since I was reassured that Harmony would update the Mac OS app to 64 bit.

Are we really just days away from Mac OS going 64 bit only and Harmony is not just caught with it's pants down but the above announcement just dumps current products from ongoing app support?

    Like really?

How do I get my money back for my Harmony Elite and Harmony Ultimate?

Heck, my Harmony Elite is just a few months old - do I return it via Amazon?

Do your resellers know you are dropping Mac OS support for current products?

Is this heading for the small claims court?

I'm also in the same boat. I own and use the Harmony Elite, and I was under the impression that it was a premium and current product.  If they're dropping it from current, 64-bit OS support, then that's ridiculous.  I'm likely to sell mine on, and will need to look at alternate products from a company that supports its product users properly.  Does anyone have suggestions as to what this alternate product might be?

    Logitech Support:

Again, I say it is critical to understand how this decision affects those Mac-based customers who are using legacy Harmony Controllers that are not compatible with MyHarmony or the Harmony app and are currently using the Desktop Harmony Software ver 7.8.1. Please confirm that the only option for those customers who are using a Mac computer and are still using the Harmony 880/890, 1000/1100, 900, 500-series, Xbox 360 and others will either need to stay on a Mac computer running macOS 10.14 or lower, or move to a Windows platform. Otherwise, they will no longer be able to program their controllers. Please confirm or provide more information if this is not the case. I want to provide guidance on my website regarding options.

Why an email wasn't sent out for request for beta? I am a home theater installer i need this badly for i need it to program my customers remotes. Cannot always have access to a borrowed laptop to do this.

    Hello!

It is now the middle of September, where is the 64 bit Mac OS Harmony software? You stated in August it would be out by the END of that month. Did you mean August 2019 or August 2020 or NEVER? It seems like someone is setting themselves up for a class action. Since you are located in California, the law states 7 years for parts which software has been ruled by courts to be a part of Manufactured Goods! 😡

They can probably wriggle out of any legal responsibilities by saying that users aren't forced to upgrade and the remotes will continue to function on the platform you were using when you purchased it, but it's very poor service and is a black spot against their reputation.

Probably the best way of getting them to reverse their decision is to make sure every tech website/twitter tech "celebtrity" gets to hear about it.

    @oviano

Good idea, I would even suggest to add respective reviews on Amazon. If sales go down due to this ignorant behaviour and missing macOS support, this could force log to rethink their decision.
