Logitech Circle 2 HomeKit Secure Video Support
-
I finally got an answer from Logitech, but it seems its a pretty generic answer, and I guess the support person did not check anything with the devs regarding the release of new firmware, nor did the person read my question carefully.
"Logitech and Apple are currently coordinating to make the Apple HomeKit Secure Video available in the future.
As of now we don't have time frame as to when will this feature be completed. But no worries, because this feature will be announce once it will be available.
Here's an the latest official statement from one of our product developers:
"HomeKit Secure Video will be supported on the Circle 2 wired cameras later this year."I call this bullcrap. Logitech and Apple are not currently coordinating anyting. Apple already has released Secure Video with iOS 13.2, now its up to Logitech to fullfill their promise to us.

HomeKit Secure Video support for Circle 2 wired cameras is now live. Please see full details at https://blog.logitech.com/2019/11/14/circle-2-now-works-with-apple-homekit-secure-video/

Mina was working fine until 5 days ago. It stopped responding. No LED at all. When I try to reset it, while I hold the reset button it starts flashing purple, purple-orange, purple-green then purple-red. but as soon as I release the rest button it turns off again.
I can’t re-add it to my Home app because it just refuses to stay on.
Any help?

My Logi 2 Circle camera was connected to HomeKit Securely but was experiencing issues. I removed the camera from HomeKit and now I am unable to connect my camera back to HomeKit. I’ve also tried to reset the camera by holding down the button 9 seconds and waiting for the purple and green blinking light, nothing has helped Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I have been having the same issues as everyone else. 2 x Circle 2 Cams upgraded fine to HKSV, one has recording option one does not. Removed the one which does not have the recording option from HomeKit and now I cannot re-add it back into HomeKit. I manually enter the HomeKit code in the home app under accessories but the camera is never found and I cannot add the camera back into the Logi App. Tried contacting Logi support with zero luck - what a painful process!
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get my camera working again? Either downgrade it to work with logi app so I can re-add it or something??
-
I agree! What is the time frame when Circle 2 will support HomeKit Secure Video? I was under the impression when apple announced Logitech to be one of few companies at launch to support HomeKit Secure Video that it will be available when apple released the update for IOS devices for HomeKit Secure Video.

I will try to answer as many of the questions posted here:
1. How do you create motion detection zones? Motion zones are not currently supported in HomeKit Secure Video
2. When I try to re-add my cameras back into the Logi app, I select "HomeKit paired camera" but the app doesn't find any? You can't use your cameras in the Circle App once they have been converted to HomeKit Secure Video. All interaction is done in the Apple Home App. If you decide you don't like the new experience, please contact support and ask to revert back to the Circle Ecosystem.
3. Any way to change the recording resolution like we could in the Logi app? The Home App doesn't expose any resolution management and HomeKit Secure Video always runs at 1080p.
4. After I converted, I am not getting any recordings yet. In the Home App camera settings make sure you set the mode to "Stream & Allow Recording" under the When Home and When Away. By default the Home App only selects "Stream" only (aka live view only). If this still doesn't work, make sure all your devices are running 13.2 or newer including your Home Hub device. You will also need an iCloud plan capable of recording. More details can be found in this FQA article.
5. The LED colors have changed. Please see this FAQ article about what the HomeKit Secure Video LED scheme is.

It clearly states on the website where they provide instructions for converting to HomeKit Secure Video that this was a beta release. It also clearly says beta in the HomeKit Smart Home Integration where you actually upgrade the camera. I get you might have been excited to try this out but Logitech made this extremely clear.
-
Yes it does...Literally the button you click to upgrade your camera says "Beta: Convert to support HomeKit Secure Video."
The support site with the instructions includes a screenshot showing this as well.

Hello Circle2 Home Kit Team,
I integrated my two cameras into the home kit yesterday via firmware update.
Unfortunately, something is wrong with the motion detector.
I get a lot of false messages about detected movements.
In my opinion, when changing from daylight to dusk and usually whenever I call the live picture via the Homekit app.
Here it is about an update to get the motion sensor of the Circle2 in conjunction with the Home Kit better under control.
I'm curious ;-)

Just purchased two Circle 2 in order to enjoy HomeKit Secure Video. Tested one for now.
It worked quite correctly for a couple hours then suddenly, for no reason it could no longer be joined at all and I had to unplug / replug it to get it to work again. As other reported.
This is a showstopper, guys.
I'll wait for a firmware update for one week or two and see if this is fixed, otherwise I'll return them for good.

Logi_Aron yea, I tried that. I tried releasing while in purple-orange, purple-green and purple-red. On all my tries, as soon as I release the reset button the LED turns off and stays that way. If I disconnect the power plug and connect it again, it flashes yellow for a second and turns off again.

I'm having the same issues as all of you. I removed my Circle 2 from Home and reset my Circle 2. But, now I cannot re-add it. How are you adding it? I use my phone and it does not automatically show up, so I enter the homekit code and it does not work. How are you all adding it? The LED is solid green and I verified in my AP/router that the Circle is on my wifi network.

Reset fixed the recording/motion issue for me.
Received camera yesterday and enabled HomeKit Secure video via the Logi Circle app. The firmware change was OK and streaming worked fine in Home app. I uninstalled the Logi Circle app as this was now redundant. When viewing the Motion Sensor status (expand accessories in camera settings), it stated "Motion Sensor Ready" but scrolling down, the "Status Active" was "No", and motion wasn't being detected.
I held the reset button for about 10 seconds and after various colour changes it settled on a solid green. Not sure if this is relevant but I did NOT remove the camera from Home prior to this reset. I scanned the HomeKit code to add the camera to the home again. It appeared as a new camera, while the old entry still remained (showed as unavailable). I removed the old entry and the camera is now working as expected. The recordings started showing up and automations are also being triggered by the motion sensor.
Hope this helps
