The new Facebook Portal TV comes with a Bluetooth remote. Would it be possible for Harmony Elite/Hub to control it?

    Hi David Estock,

    Apologize for the trouble. As of now, Harmony supports only IR and few IP, BT device. So it is not possible to control your device via BT. I will forward your request to the higher team for consideration.

    Is there any update? I can use Harmony to control my Apple TV via Bluetooth, can you add support to Facebook Portal TV?

    Yes please, me too. Everyone looks at me funny when harmony hub and alexa can drive my entire house except for portal tv.

    Interesting, my Portal TV remote definitely has IR in it, it has the telltale window at the front, is it not like the Sony TVs where IR does most of the work, with bluetooth only used for the voice remote features?

    I've tried to teach the harmony the IR codes but it didn't recognize any, as if none were being sent.

    I've also tried to disable the bluetooth pairing of the remote and the Portal, hoping it would fall back to IR, but I didn't have any success.

    Try setting up the Portal TV as if it is an Nvidia Shield. During the activity setup (opt to do this) it will walk you through the steps to pair. Should work since both the Portal and Shield running Android and support bluetooth keyboards.

    Adam0913 I just tried your suggestion and it worked! I just renamed the device and the activity and now I am controlling my portal with my Harmony! Awesome suggestion! Thank you so much!

    Thanks folks, this was a great insight and working for me too. However I haven't figured out a way to emulate the Portal Home button. Any tips for this?

    Nvidia shield works. Such a disappointing support from Logitech! Also, I have the remote for a few years, and the interface is still as clunky and slow (or slower) than day one. For a remote marketed as ‘always updated with the latest devices’ it is soooo disappointing!!
