Feature request: MX Keys adjustable backlight duration
Đã trả lờiBacklight duration is quite short on MX Keys, so when I think for a while during typing the light goes off - even with my hands on the keyboard. This constant on and off behaviour easily gets annoying. My feature request is an extra setting in Logitech Options for various backlight duration settings including a possibility to set the backlight constantly ON.
Otherwise the keyboard is great, thanks guys! :)

Thank you for writing to Logitech! Please give the following troubleshooting steps below a try:
-Check to ensure that the backlighting is not at 0%.
-To increase the backlighting, press the backlighting level up key:
-Ensure that the Smart Connector on the iPad and the Keyboard are clean and free of debris.
-Soft Reset the iPad (Press and hold the power button and the home button simultaneously until the iPad reboots and an Apple logo appears on screen, then release the two buttons and test the keyboard once fully booted up)
-Update iOS to the newest version and test functionality.
-If another iPad with a Smart Connector is available for testing, please test the keyboard on the other iPad, if it functions with a different iPad, then the keyboard is working as intended and recommend that you contact Apple about the device it is not working with.Thao tác bình luận -
I have recently purchased the MX Keys for Mac and I love it! I agree that it would be awesome if we could adjust the duration of the backlight and have the option to leave it on all the time. I realize that this will make the battery drain more quickly and I would be fine with charging it more often. If you add this feature it will really make you stand out from the rest of the wireless backlit keyboards because none of them seem to offer it.
Thanks!

I have been begging Logitech for this simple feature for almost 2 years. Logitech continues to post "troubleshooting steps" that have no bearing on this issue. Logitech has ignored tens of thousands of requests all from paying customers who have been demanding a fix for this dysfunctional keyboard. Logitech has invested millions of dollars in a new ad campaign that continues to make the same, false claims about this keyboard and its backlight. The backlight does not light up with the proximity sensor. The simple code for the proximity sensor does not function as advertised. There is no setting to override the sensor and leave the lights on continually. Logitech, inexplicably will not address this issue. I believe it is time for a class action lawsuit against Logitech for their false, misleading claims and complete failure to address them.

Why does Logitech fail to listen to their customers and add this simple feature? I am going back to using my older wired Logitech Illuminated Keyboard K740, since the backlight is ALWAYS On. On the MX keyboard, if I have it plugged in, I should be able to have the backlight always on too.

I keep getting the same cut and paste response to every request. This is not a user mistake. The MX Keys is being sold based on the following false claim:
"Proximity sensors detect your hands, illuminating the keyboard the moment your fingers approach. The backlit keys then fade off when you leave the desk — saving power for those moments of inspiration.
Backlighting intensity automatically adapts to lighting conditions, or can be set manually."
None of that is true. The proximity sensor does not function this way. It does not light up when your fingers approach. Backlighting cannot be set manually. The keyboard seems to go to sleep frequently and, once in this mode, completely disables the proximity sensor function, requiring the user to press a key to wake the board. In low lighting, pressing a key can trigger unwanted events which is likely as the keyboard is completely dark at this point.
Logitech continues to past up the same troubleshooting suggestions as though the correct operation is there, but that the user has somehow made a mistake that is interfering with proper operation. Again, this is deliberately misleading the public into believing that Logitech is not continuing to commit a crime against the buying public by misrepresenting the actual operation of this broken product.
Further, Logitech's "customer satisfaction" surveys continue to blatantly self-promote, using phrases like "How can we make your experience even better?". This is outrageous corporate behavior that should have triggered a class action lawsuit a long time ago.
American corporations have been relieved of any and all oversight or accountability to customers. They are all starting to involve themselves in politics and, as long as they support propaganda against the American people, they are fully allowed to violate any and all federal, state and local laws in any manner they like without fear of repercussions.

I've used Logitech products for 20 years. I really want to support them, as they used to make quality products. But lately after experiencing the non-existent customer service for people who've bought $100 keyboards and $300 headsets, and seeing official responses like this one written by someone with a 50 IQ, I won't be purchasing anything from Logitech ever again. You could get better support from a random seller on Amazon who doesn't even speak your language.

I use my Logitech MX Keys and MX Master 3 for CAD use.
Sometimes my work requires me to work late at night. I thought I could easily change the setting for the keyboard backlight to stay on longer than a few seconds. I understand this will have an effect on battery life, but it's better than working blind. Even if we could simply keep the keyboard lit for at least 30 minutes would be fantastic.
As I said, I work in CAD, a lot of my work is done using the mouse, but when entering text of dimensions I shouldn't need to wake the keyboard.
It's a software setting, it's simply; or at least it should be for the price we pay for Logitech's products.
FIX IT ! ! !

I too find the default actions of the MX Keys device to be frustrating. It reacts to my fingers w...a...y too slowly and shuts off FAST! It is early days but I may have improved it somewhat. I shut off the Options Tool "automatically enable battery saving mode" AND plugged it into a charging-only port. The lighting in my keyboard now stays on for several minutes before going out.
Not fixed, but I am grateful for any minor improvement. If this method is known to help - even a bit - why not add that advice to the canned copy/paste reply when a complaint is received? I'm a long-time Logitech fan and want to be happy with their hardware. Shouldn't the customer service reps feel the same way?

Saurav: No, the troubleshooting steps will NOT improve the short backlight duration. Stop LYING.
Prem: No, performing the troubleshooting steps above will NOT improve the issue. Stop LYING.
As hilarious as it is to keep getting email updates about these completely inept responses, I'm begging you people to just stop responding and escalate the issue to someone high up in Logitech Support who understands English. At this point you're just embarrassing the company.

Hi Guys,
No surprise, I have the same problem !
In my opinion Logitech can't provide a solution because I wouldn't be surprised they hard wired their design, meaning no way any setting can be altered and the issue just can't be resolved !
I even think they are not even able to communicate with the keyboard from the device it is connected to.
So it all comes down to BAD DESIGN and sadly also BAD SUPPORT not really wanting to disclose the truth and very bad news to the customers who have an issue with the fixed and pre-set backlighting behaviour.
INEXCUSABLE for sure !
