Logitech Capture crashes on launch in OSX Catalina 10.15.7

Downloaded the latest version of Logitech Capture.....

  • Software Version: 2.04.8
  • Last Update: 2020-11-17
  • OS: macOS 10.15,macOS 10.14
  • File Size: 143 MB

Unfortunately however it crashes immediately when I attempt to launch it.  :-(

Is there a fix?

    Hi,

    I am having the same issue. To make this work I´m using the Logi Capture Installer 2.0.200.

    So this will "fix" the problem temporally. 

    We hope Logitech come to resolve this on further updates.

    Thanks Aurelio, I managed to install the older version as you suggested and that worked great.  As you say let's hope Logitech are able to fix the issue in the latest Mac OSX versions. :-)

    I got mine in the mail today and I have the same issue. 2.0.200 resolved it.

    same problem on my Early 2013 15" MBP and 10.15.7, it crashes on loading with a 930e. I've waited patiently for these to come back in to stock for what seems like a year. I really hope I don't have to send this back and buy an Aukey.

    No problem Simon, I'm glad it worked! As I mentioned earlier, it works with 2.0.200 version, however the downside is that every time we start the app, it asks you want to update, and we have to choose: "no thanks, remind me later". Besides that, the older version works.

    I'm glad the older version works, but I cannot see video in the app when the camera is on. I know the camera sees me because I can record or take a picture or use Zoom etc. It's just a black box where the video should be. Anyone know why this might be?

    I have the same problem on an early 2013 MBP with a 930e - 2.4.8 crashes. HOWEVER 2.0.2 does not work with the 930e, it does not show up as a camera option. So I think this is going back to bestbuy tomorrow. What a disappointment. Logitech, please please fix this.

    Hi Mitch,

    This can happen (black box) especially if you have OBS open. In that case, close all other applications, like Zoom, etc. Also close Logitech Capture as well. Then, try to open Logitech Capture alone and see if the video shows up.

    Thanks Aurelio. It still happens even after I've closed all programs on my computer and re-open Logitech Capture.

    2011 13" MacBook Pro running OS 10.15.5. It is a "Hackintosh." Could that have something to do with it? It was the only way I could run Catalina.

    My pleasure, Mitch! Yes, it is possible due to the necessary compatible plugins. I had the same problem as you and, in my case, after closed other apps that use the webcam, solved it.

    The webcam model I'm using is a C920 HD Pro, running Catalina 10.15.7 on the MacBook Pro Mid 2012. I guess Logitech's software engineers will have to emulate the error to bring a solution in the next update.

    Don't send it back or return it!  The Logitech cameras are way better in quality than anything else I've come across. You do not actually need any software on the mac, it does give you some extra features and adjustments but you can use the camera just fine without it. Works plug and play on my iMac late 2012 running Catalina.  The Logitech Camera Settings app will give you adjustments if you need them, and that works fine.

    i have the same problem with my Mac mini Catalina 10.15.7 ...I can install 2.0.200 – but the camera ist not recognized with this version.
