I also find it non-intuitive and weird to release the FN key to increase volume and press it to lower volume.

Any news if the behavior will change in future releases?

This is such a counter-intuitive feature that it can't be on purpose.

There must be an oversight - some developer taking the feature implementation literally: "Lock Fn-keys when pressing fn-esc" - without having the actual keyboard in front of him/her. Because if he/she had the actual keyboard layout to look at it would be obvious that the "ins / volume up" key should be treated the same as the rest of the fn-keys.

This - in addition with the fact that the mx keys mini can't use the unifying dongles, does not come supplied with the new Bolt-dongles, and no Bolt-dongles are available for purchase anywhere - makes this keyboard extremely hard to recommend.

    Hey Rbell,

    Thank you for the feedback.

We will update once we get any update from the team regarding the Ins/Volume up key as F keys.

Yes, Logitech MX Keys Mini doesn't come with a Logi Bolt receiver as we recommend the usage of the device with Bluetooth. To purchase the receiver, please use the link: https://www.logitech.com/products/mice/logi-bolt-usb-receiver.956-000007.html

Let us know if there is anything else in the future we can do to assist.

(Check the keys you want to disable.)

Seems there's no INS key on some MX Keys Mini. But as you print INS key like other fn-keys, please make it work in the same way, or add option "whether switch with fn-lock".

And the DEL key shouldn't switch while fn-lock, DEL should work with INS at the same time.

    Wait for a firmware update.

I got my keyboard recently, have the same issue, there is also a post on reddit with bunch of people having this issue.

    It's obviously a bug.

With fn lock we need to press:

fn + volume down for it to work

volume up without fn for it to work which is just wrong, this button shouldn't behave the same way regardless of fn lock. And it needs to behave like volume down and other.

With fn lock disabled everything works as it should, you just press volume up or volume up.

I do realize that the volume up button is swapped with insert not F1-F12 button same with del that can be used to lock pc but at least let as choose, nobody is expecting volume up and down to behave differently.

Will it be sort out with some driver update ?

    Hi.

I'm experiencing the same problem. Fn+F12 to for VolDown and just Ins for VolUp is duper counter-intuitive.

Are you planning to fix it or add some setting to control this behavior?

It's been almost 4 months since the first post.

    Hi,

    Also having the same problem.

Insert is more important to my workflow than the volume keys.

The behavior of this key with the function row enable option "feels" like an oversight when you look at the volume up and down function.

Would also appreciate the option to swap this function with the F1-F12 keys.

Hello, exact same issue here with fn + vol up key. Excellent explanation of the issue...

@Prem L : You are telling all the time the issue has been passed to the team, but no answer or fix has been given. The issue is 4 months old, you should have had a fix long ago. Please, reach out and make the fix available once and for all. This is a new keyboard with a bug, don't make us long time Logitech users regret getting your products please.

5 months of OP, and still nothing. I've contacted them via ticket, and the tend to respond things like:

"However in Logitech Options we do not have an option to manually program the volume up button to function with FN+ INS key. I checked with our next level of support we do not have an update about this feature or programming in Logitech Options."

So they do not plan to update, correct or patch this bug.

I invite all of you to go to amazon, ebay and all places where this product has some kind of feedback, and comment this, with it's proper feedback.

Also, we should tell people in forums that the development team will possibly not listen to community, and they will not care if the product has a bug...

This is becoming quite a joke, really. First that this even passed through all internal QA that I assume happens when releasing a new product, considering it's something you must notice after minutes of using the product (if you use the said buttons). Second, that a super simple bug like this hasn't been fixed in 5+ months.

Yes sure, more than 5 months have passed, and every support comment keeps saying the same, that you "will pass to the team". Nothing has been done in this regard.

BTW, you are not providing the best experience as you want to ensure.

    Hey,
brand new user to the Logi MX Keys mini.
I have this issue too and find it quite annoying. Apparently this was posted about at least a half year ago... how come this is not fixed?
    Is there an update?

Replied in another thread that I opened :

    https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4933519707287-MX-Keys-Mini-FN-lock-not-applied-to-volume-up-ins

    that people keep complaining.

It's unbelievable that there is still no answer on the solution of this, that should be very simple on their end. Users should re think when purchasing Logitech again. If you do, you should know that any problem or bug you may have or find will NOT be resolved by their -team-. I don't even want to think about a RMA process or a warranty...

Is it too much to ask for you to FINALLY fix this after people literally complaining about the issue from day one?

It is too much, yes, too much for them. 1 year asking the same, and the "support" here just copy pastes their answers with no solutions at all. They simply don't care about customers. I'll never purchase a Logitech branded thing in my life. I hope people reach this and see the support this brand gives to their customers.

    Please Logitech,

Make a decision: address this issue (which is really cumbersome, counter-inuitive) or not and communicate the outcome.

To say for more than a year: "we have passed it to our team" is an insult to your customers and a blame for Logitech's reputation.

I received my keyboard yesterday, and I wish I had found this issue before purchasing.

I need the Fn keys for coding, and am already finding this issue frustrating. And no reply from support for the last 7 months! Has this issue been muted? As a new customer, this doesn't look good.

It may seem a minor inconvenience to some, but using these keys all day I'm tempted to return to Amazon and get the Keychron instead.

Note that while this is still an issue for MX Mini, the mechanical version of this keyboard (which comes in the mini layout, too) doesn't have this problem and is lovely (feels much nicer than Keychron that I have, too) - that is what I'd recommend going for.

I've chatted with client support today, and all is the same.

mk I understand that other keyboards does not present this issue, but this is about this keyboard, and how we clients who has this keyboard are missing with it.

Peter Dunn I also use it for coding and programming, and I also find this very frustrating.

I've switched a keychron keyboard for this, and I'm really regretting it.

This issue has to be fixed by them.
