The Logitech R500 is advertised as compatible with iOS 8 and onwards (and by extension, should be compatible with iPadOS 8 and onwards). For some reason Bluetooth pairing of a Logitech R500 is not possible. It is believed the issue became a thing after iOS and iPadOS 15.0, according to posts on other forums. iOS and iPadOS 16 are scheduled for release this September. Unfortunately, upgrading my devices to the betas for version 16 did not fix the issue.
Steps to replicate and error message have been described here: https://support.logi.com/hc/en-gb/community/posts/8614189628951-Logitech-R500-iOS-iPadOS-15-and-16-support
I am afraid the Logi R500 needs a minor firmware update to make this possible. Were there physical hardware limitations on either the newer iPad Pros or iPhones, or even the Logi R500, that made it impossible to port the firmware, I would be interested in hearing from the dev team so I can start looking for an alternative to my two Logi R500.
Last week I posted a question about this but it may have gone unnoticed because of this forum’s nature of marking posts with at least one comment as “answered” even if the question in issue has not been resolved. I am looking forward to hearing back from you.
