Circle View’s Night Vision is powered by:
- Night Vision Light generated from two infrared LEDs that illuminate the environment.
- A high-performance camera sensor, tuned to capture both visible and infrared light from the environment.
Circle View Camera’s night vision works best under the following conditions:
- Night vision is limited to 15 feet — make sure the camera is no more than 15 feet away from movement.
- The area you want to monitor is clear and unobstructed with no objects close to the camera in its field of view. The reflection of the night vision light from these objects may cause the automatic system to over-compensate, darken the image, and reduce the visibility of objects in the distance.
You can toggle off the Night Vision Light (in the Apple Home app) if you wish to rely solely on the light from the environment to illuminate the view.
Note: This will only turn off the camera IR LEDs. The camera will continue to capture visible and infrared light from the ambient environment in order to provide the most clarity possible in low-light situations. As a result, the image will remain black and white.
To capture color video at night, you will need to make sure that there is sufficient visible light to illuminate the scene.
